there's a movie this time

The Avengers: Age of Ultron -- also known as "Tony, don't do it. No, really, Tony, stop." In an unsurprising turn of events, I find Tony Stark about fifty times more punchable when Pepper Potts isn't around.

The movie was entertaining enough. Both movies with Avengers in the title felt... kinda bloated, I guess I'd say. This second one even more so than the first. But it held my interest, and there was enough flow to the narrative to justify its existence. Mostly.

Part of the strength of Cap2 was the narrative focus on two characters I like: Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff. Split up that narrative over so many characters, and it's a harder sell for me.

So I probably won't watch Age of Ultron again, unless the fanfic writing bug bites really hard. Unlikely, considering how long it's been since I last wrote any fic, but... new friendships to explore! AoU took one non-canon relationship that I enjoyed (Hawkeye/Black Widow), and threw it out, and I couldn't be happier. Because now we have Barton & Romanoff as besties (still), and Laura Barton and Natasha as friends as well. Auntie Nat! Love it.

I was okay with the Natasha/Bruce moments. Her last scene with Bruce before he hulked out is proof that she's 1) currently still putting the mission before romance, and 2) really, really bad at romance. I get why she took that step, and there wasn't a lot of time to try convincing Bruce otherwise, but, uh... I also understand why Bruce didn't come back to her during the movie's time frame. Stayed the Hulk, even, to protect himself. *sadface*

Enough about that. Jane the Virgin had its first season finale last night. And it certainly lived up to its telenovela roots. Rafael trying to double-cross Petra! Michael trying to double-cross Nadine, while we were thinking the opposite! BABY MATEO STOLEN FROM THE HOSPITAL BY SIN ROSTRO, AAAAAAAAHHHH!

I'm still undecided about how I feel about the baby being taken. It's so over the top, even for this show. So I guess I'm gonna wait and see why Sin Rostro did that. POOR JANE! POOR JANE'S FAMILY!

Person of Interest has been renewed for a fifth season, but only for thirteen episodes. Honestly, that's okay with me except for the possibility of no sixth season. And the only reason I'd want a sixth is so that we can get a Shaw storyline. Coming back next season--at least with any significant screentime--is unlikely for Shahi, who gave birth to twins earlier this year and has announced her intention to take some time with them.

Reading a very silly book about a witch and a vampire in love, and I've almost deleted it from my Kindle twice already. The worldbuilding is interesting enough, but the romance part is so very predictable, and not in a good way. Also: Her eyes floated up to his. Heeeeee. I didn't know witches had detachable eyes!
