Aww, I like the episode with Cameron in the library too. It's so... random and fillerish, but that guy is a great character and I loved him and their odd little friendship.
I LOVED DEREK AND JESSE and their ending killed me (in a great way), right down to the tiny ambiguity of whether he shot her or not. They're such dark characters, and tragic in their own way. They live in a War and approach everything with this soldier morality; the ends justify the means. I agree they'd never live 'normally' again. I think the moment I fell in love with Jesse is when she asked John if it would've worked, making him think Cameron killed Riley. And when he says no, she goes "It's a damn shame, then. It's a damn waste." Guh.
Riley must've been *very* young on J-day. I don't think she was ever a fighter, just got by surviving somehow. I've also wondered whether the writers knew from the beginning where that was going -- after rewatching the season, I think they did, and it's interesting to watch knowing the reveal AND that John suspects something.
