I waited in line for almost twenty-five minutes to vote early today (US presidential elections, in case there's any misunderstanding *g*). I don't know if that's typical or not--I've never voted early before. I think it's pretty cool that so many people were there--and I'm saying that as someone who is not very excited about either of the two major candidates for president. Nice to have so much interest, even if I'm not personally satisfied with the choices being offered.
and that's all I'm going to say about it...

And on a totally unrelated note: author Tony Hillerman died Sunday. He was eighty-three years old. His mystery novels are some of my favorites; most of them are set on the Navajo reservation. He grew up in Oklahoma, though. (Yay, a fellow Okie!) For those who know less about Native American tribes, the Navajo live primarily in New Mexico and Arizona.

I read Skinwalkers a very long time ago and didn't particularly like it. I'm not sure what made me pick up another novel by him, but the second time worked--I was hooked. (Now I'm not sure why I didn't like Skinwalkers the first time, having reread it and enjoyed it.) I'd recommend A Thief of Time as a good introduction to his work.
