Ten, er, Twelve things about Person of Interest 2.09 C.O.D.
- Ah, those polite bad guys. Waiting their turn to fight the hero, and none of them grabbing the PoI for leverage or attempted murder while lined up. Hee.
- Speaking of the PoI, Fermin Ordoñez is my favorite PoI so far this season. The right mixture of innocence, pathos and involvement throughout the case.
- The camera angles used this week really highlighted how good-looking Jim Caviezel is. It was distracting. (I am OK with that.)
- Listening a second time, I was struck by how creepy Reese’s voice was when he called Fusco back. I WOULDN’T TELL HIM WHAT WAS BOTHERING ME EITHER*. Yikes, Reese.
- Grafoni’s little surprise for Fusco and his pal—that was a twist I didn’t see coming, though considering Elias was involved, I should have.
- Speaking of that, impossible not to speculate that part of the reason Fusco was left to share the news with Simmons is because Elias knows Fusco is working with John. Fusco’s death isn’t a can of worms that Elias wants to open with Reese and Finch, or he wants to keep that line of leverage communication open, or whatever. But since we’re talking about Elias, it was almost certainly a deliberate choice.
- Regina Vickers and Joss Carter. SCREENTIME WITH CARTER AND ANOTHER WOMAN, WOOT! This isn’t common; I feel like it should be celebrated every time.
- Carter using information as leverage to get Fermin’s family to the US was brilliant, and a much safer plan than having Fermin (or Finch) pay the coyote who was going to bring them here.
- “How did your date go with Detective Beecher? It sounded like it really went well!” I’m not sure how much to giggle (Carter’s FAAAACE!) and how much to wince (‘cause really, Finch? You have to let her know that you’re spying on her date?). Heeeeeee.
- The first ending was great: Reese and the dog, reunion for the Ordoñez family, Carter and Reese talking in the sunlight.
- The second ending was just ARGH, SO OMINOUS, OH FUSCO!
- As far as Simmons knows, Fusco did kill Davidson. Simmons knows Fusco has some connection to the Man in the Suit, but he doesn't know how far it goes. The next time the show picks up the HR and/or Elias plot strands should be very interesting.
*There's more here about why I think Fusco has a hard time going to Reese to ask for help with the HR problem
