need more sleep still
I love road trips and I'm SOOOOOO glad to be home. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has that feeling.
Last night during the drive home I was looking at the stars. It was such a clear, beautiful night. I was enjoying taking a break from the driving, looking up through the passenger window. We were all at that not-sleepy because of too many Dr. Peppers but totally exhausted stage. I made up two new constellations and named them. The fact that I was laughing hysterically at this stupid conversation shows just how tired I was....
Me: Look! I see a horse! *points toward star cluster below Orion*
Michele: Ooh, what's his name?
Me: Bert! Bert the horse! *laughs really hard*
Paula: Now you have to find Ernie.
Me: No I don't! I don't want Ernie. I just want Bert.
later...
Me: There's a butterfly!
*starts laughing in advance*
Me: His name is Purdy.
Michele: Spelled P-U-R-D-Y?
Me: Yup. Purdy the Butterfly.
*starts laughing again and realizes... very very tired of traveling*
All of this dialogue took place after we stopped at the burger place and I accidentally threw mine away uneaten and Paula forgot her drink on the counter, but before Michele got pulled over for speeding in Saint Jo, Texas. (We got away without a ticket because three crazy teachers on Spring Break are apparently a sympathetic group.)
