okay, NOW I'm putting the computer down
1. I never thought I'd have a legitimate reason to drag out this Twilight userpic--though I've used it plenty of times just because it's funny--but today Stephenie Meyer announced that they're going to publish Midnight Sun in August. The novel is written from Edward Cullen's POV. An early draft of it was leaked, uh, fifteen years ago? Something like that. At any rate, Meyer was displeased by the leak and put the project on hold.
Quarantine is really doing a number on the writers, eh?
2. I'm bracing myself for a new round of people attempting to interpret Stephenie Meyer's writing through the lens of her religion and doing it badly. Most of the time what I saw was people parroting something they read from former church members and assuming that was all the information they needed. One wouldn't consult just an ex-Catholic to create a complete list of how Anne Rice's vampires reflected her (now former?) Catholicism, right? So.
3. There's a reason my tag for Twilight is what it is. (I THOUGHT I WAS SAFE! IT'S BEEN ALMOST A DECADE SINCE THE LAST TIME I EVEN USED THIS TAG!)
How embarrassed am I going to be by some of the old entries using that tag? Hm...
