I JUST REMOVED THE BASEBOARDS. I feel weirdly victorious. Thankfully they were real wood, because I've heard that the more recent stuff (fiberboard??) just falls apart when people try to take them out.

Next: sanding walls, painting another layer of primer, then actual wall paint. And THEN I can get some flooring. I'm gonna leave the carpet there for now; might as well use it as a paint-catcher and rip it out after I'm done painting.
