I get this, and for me at least, I think it's because they're shiny and rely on lore, but the lore isn't that deep - so it's relatively less dense to absorb. Meanwhile, shows like OMITB rely on their density of storytelling by principle.
I don't think I'd be able to binge-watch a fantasy series I knew a lot of lore about, and was invested in upfront, but like, Cursed? Totally bingeable.
