Andor rewatch, episode 7

More Andor thoughts, spoilers mostly through episode 7.

• During a dinner outing recently, I mentioned subscribing to Disney+ for an extra month just for this show, and a friend of mine said that he’d already bought a hard copy of the show… and that he’s not going to investigate the legality of it, but he’s pretty sure it ain’t. Legal, that is.


• They’d better offer us a (legal) version of the show on blu-ray. Or I might resort to a similar, uh, rebellion.


• In an interview, Diego Luna talks about episode six, and Cassian shooting Skeen. At first he talks about how the experience on Aldhani was a first time feeling the spirit of teamwork, and that Skeen’s plan to steal their haul felt like a betrayal to that. Then Luna changed his answer to being more specifically about seeing Skeen’s plan as a betrayal of Nemik.


• I like that it’s both ideas. And I also like the idea that Cassian is shooting his own shadow-self, the person he could be. Also, I really appreciate being able to loathe Skeen on the rewatch. Heh.


• Even though Syril is never gonna be my favorite, I did enjoy the realization that his tailored brown suit with the high collar (that Mama Karn disapproves) is a reflection of the ISB uniform lines.
