Goodbye, 2007
I was feeling introspective in church today (as one is wont to do), so here's a post bidding farewell to 2007 from me.
And so I won't sound too smug:
A few thoughts for 2008
I do have some goals in mind--physical, spiritual, financial. Some are still nebulous, some are very personal... But I'll say a couple. I want to work on my Spanish again, and the easiest way to do that is to attend the Spanish-language Sunday school at church each week. I'm planning to do the weekly reading for each lesson. Maybe by mid-year I'll be able to make a comment in class. *g* My other goal is to catch up on some journaling and scrapbooking from not-so-recent trips. I've put all my Ecuador trip photos into an album, but haven't labeled them--and that trip was in June 2005. I haven't printed up the Mexico trip pictures yet, and that trip was in June 2006. And the journals I kept from both of those trips exist in notebooks but some of the people who went with me would like electronic versions, and I haven't typed them up yet.
Yeah, I have plenty to do. (And right now, that means putting away Christmas decorations.)
- bought three silver rings (must slow rate of acquisition; it's a weakness! I think I have almost twenty now)
- took three roadtrips (not counting any trips to visit parents)
- one plane trip (barely--I left in 2007, returned in 2008)
- wrote fanfic (can't be bothered to make a word count)
- made beaded jewelry for myself and for friends (someday I'll post pics but today isn't that day)
- signed up for Netflix (I just do one DVD at a time)
- signed up for emusic.com (thirty song downloads per month, woohoo!)
- drove in/through seven states
- read the Book of Mormon in French (again)
- almost read the whole New Testament (in English) (I have read it before; I got behind over the summer this year. Oops.)
- didn't travel out of the country (!)
And so I won't sound too smug:
- spent a bit too much time in hermit-like behavior (books, DVDs, the internet...)
- didn't take any classes towards a master's degree (it won't advance my career but I would like to have it for myself)
- didn't write enough letters to friends and family
- wish I'd taken a few more opportunities to give service
