It all makes sense now, doesn't it?
Oh, my three-day weekend is almost gone. Today was drizzly with a temperature barely above freezing. This is not what I ordered for my Monday away from work!
I saw 27 Dresses this weekend.
What a relief that the usual cliches for romantic comedies haven't been forgotten. This movie included:
* a cute dog (though I'm guessing some of his scenes were cut)
* a wisecracking child
* a libidinous best friend (two, actually--one for the male lead, one for the female lead)
* a Life-Changing Speech from a character who previously appeared to have the emotional depth of a cracker
* a misunderstanding between the male and female leads (yeah, shocking)
I didn't hate it, but I wish I'd stuck with the original plan and gone to see Enchanted again. (On a side note, Katherine Heigl is very pretty as a brunette. And James Marsden is definitely eye-candy, though I wish he'd had a better wardrobe.)
A couple of BSG-related recs:
Kara Thrace and Her Special Destiny by
shah_of_blah. A lovely Lee POV episode insert for 'Flesh and Bone.'
Also, the Five Minute Battlestar Galactica: The Mini-Series has been turned into an online comic book. (I think it'll take you more than five minutes to read, though.)
After posting six days in a row, I was ready for a break from Leoben. This morning, however, I had an epiphany while continuing a discussion with DB on the L.A.W. discussion thread.
Really, I've had the same tv/film villainous character crush for decades and it all started with this:

eta: This is Jareth, the Goblin King in the movie Labyrinth. He left quite an impression on my adolescent mind.
Take away a whole lot of eighties makeup and blond extensions, leave the creepy omniscience with inappropriate longing for certain female characters (and a penchant for keeping them captive) and you get this:

I don't know whether to giggle or just shake my head at my weird brain.
