I DON'T UNDERSTAND MY OWN BRAIN

Just saw the new Star Trek again. Here's the thing. When it comes to men onscreen, I generally find myself attracted to blonds, especially with light-colored eyes. I'm thoroughly predictable. But who do I find wildly attractive in the movie? Not James Tiberius Kirk. Nope, I like Spock.

What's even more strange is that the actor playing the role, Zachary Quinto, is not really that handsome. He's a nice-looking guy, but... eh. Put pointy ears on him, give him a really nerdy haircut and make him act repressed and suddenly I wanna give him a hug and make out with him. I want him to say "Fascinating" to me with that awesome voice.

This is very confusing.

In other movie news, I finally saw the trailer for Half-Blood Prince in the theater. I'M SO EXCITED, I CAN HARDLY STAND IT! (I re-read Deathly Hallows last week, just for fun.)

*giggles a lot*

:p I might agree

Nah, he doesn't do much for me just as himself either. Cute, but not swoon-worthy. Possibly the Mr. Darcy effect is at work and the nerdiness is pretty disarming all on its own. Though I also don't have Sylar trauma and I'm sure that helps.

Here's hoping Half Blood Prince improves the quality of summer movies! I might need to go hunt down that trailer, I don't remember seeing it.

I don't remember much, but then... it doesn't take me much to be all a-twitter about HP movies. They're just fun.

YES! Repressed men! Spock is isn't half-Vulcan, he's Victorian!

HBP looks so awesome! I just reread (er, listened to) Deathly Hallows too, and so much of that final battle made me cry, and at work which is just not fair. I think I like the HP movies better, though, since I find it almost impossible to identify with Harry and he's the viewpoint character.

I think Zachary Quinto is kind of hot on his own, actually. Scratch that—really hot. He fits my "type", even without the really nerdy stuff which is also my cup of tea.

Hm... yeah, that would make the movies more enjoyable than the books. I liked the fifth movie better than the fifth book, because there was much less Harry-ANGST and WOE in the film.

SPOCK IS HOT. TRUFAX.

I hated him as Sylar, but the actor has beautiful eyes, and nice facial structure that works really well for Spock's look. The repressed emotions thing? Also really hot. (Although it would really annoy me to be dating that kind of guy in RL, go figure.)

Repressed really works in movies and books. In real life not so much.

Good thing movie and TV crushes don't have to have any bearing on RL.
*breathes sigh of relief*
