random thoughts while "organizing" the bookshelves
Why do I have The Physicists next to Jane Eyre? (Jane is probably wondering, too.)
How is it that I have five unfinished workbooks from Spanish classes, three books about French language and culture and an Italian phrase book, and they are nowhere near each other?
Appropriately enough, I do have Three Men in a Boat next to To Say Nothing of the Dog.
DB will be happy to know that I found a copy of Wuthering Heights.
Books... too many books... drowning in books.
Happily, I have found the Netflix envelope so I can send back Ultraviolet disc one and get disc two now. (Oh! Also figured out where I'd seen the character Angie March before. She's played by the same woman who played Jane Bennett in the BBC version of Pride & Prejudice.)
I think the books are out to get me. Books I haven't read. Books I've only partially read. Books I've read before but neglected since... I can feel them staring at me as my back is turned...
Help! HELP! HElllhalphrglleglug...

OH! I found an X-Files/THT crossover: Gilead (http://www.thechicagoloop.net/yahtzee/brackets/bracketfic/Gilead.htm). I was never into X-Files, so it didn't interest me, but maybe you'll enjoy it.

Get me off this freaking moor! (http://beatonna.livejournal.com/109102.html)--featuring the (writing) Bronte sisters. Very funny.
Although I just realized that I may be in a teaching conference when you make your book post. Sorry! If that's the case, I'll come out and play when I'm done.

And I found Wuthering Heights too! Though it seems to have wandered off again just now...*dives in*

I'm pretty sure that's how Jane ended up next to a bunch of insane men who think they're famous physicists. Oh dear. There are a lot of other bad combinations hanging around on the shelf...
My copy of Wuthering Heights was actually in the get-rid-of pile. (Don't tell DB!)

I *love* this series. Have you watched it before? I was so impressed with how clever it was and how it really demanded that the viewer pay attention. I remember when I first saw Season 1 of BSG, it reminded me of Ultraviolet in this one particular way. Except that Ultraviolet wasn't on the air long enough to go wrong. Very tightly written. It did not disappoint.

...Ultraviolet wasn't on the air long enough to go wrong.
I think it was always intended to be only a mini-series.

Yes, the Brits seem to do that with their shows sometimes. I remember the show "Jekyll" was like that. I'm always torn though. The method turns out some *great* storylines, because the writers know the beginning, middle and end at inception. But then, it means the whole thing is over too soon. :)
Enjoy your rewatch!

That's what I finally did as well. It was too overwhelming otherwise. Thankfully I found a wee bit of space (after much shifting and a few books added to the give-away to friends/family pile).
