I've sat here and started three different posts. One about soul mates, one about my hair and now this. I'm feeling chatty but unfocused. So I shall pick the most fannish focus I've had lately and, um, write stuff!
How is that Doctor Who can have such terrible special effects, silly plots and deliberately arch overacting (by the villains in particular) and be totally riveting and dark?
Why do I love Martha Jones so much (aside from her general awesomeness)? She's almost always onscreen with Ten, and I'm not fannish about him. (Well... mostly I'm okay with him during the episodes. It's only later that I remember I'm annoyed by him.)
Why do I feel slightly sweet on the idea of Rose Tyler and the Ninth Doctor as a pair when they have that ridiculous age difference?
Where is that "Martha Jones during the year that wasn't" fic that I neglected to bookmark and can't find again? (It had characters from Torchwood in it and somebody dies at the end and... that's all I remember. 'Twas good.) found it
A repeat question: Why are the Doctor Who DVDs so expensive? I want season three.
Dear TARDIS: Why 1913? (Though I will admit to being fascinated by it, mostly because of Martha, partly because of the boys. And I sort of want 1913 fic and sort of don't...)

And sadly, I must say to all questions...I don't know. It's got to be the oddest show I've ever seen, given the broadness of its fandom.
It really is! I'm somewhat baffled by its popularity even though I feel quite fannish about it. (I blame Martha. This is all her fault. *g*)

It's a bit difficult, though, considering that I don't believe in soulmates, to come up with reasons why it's such a popular idea and not sound condescending as I say them...
