but the fact that they kinda tried without actually trying to be "equal" is even more annoying.
It is on one hand, but on the other that's something that BSG always struggled with. They tried for gender equality but then fell into the pitfalls of our society. For instance, there is always more boobage than full frontal male nudity in movies. In a movie, boobies get an R-rating. Usual fare. Full frontal? That's almost NC-17 territory. So I guess the fact that the penis was there is something. But the bigger question is, why nudity at all? I almost want to listen to the DVD commentary. Oops! I already returned the video.

Women are sexualized more than men in our society. For me the nudity in this episode was both unnecessary and unwanted and now I'm grumpy about it.
Yup, women are. I am sorry about you're grumpy. I wonder what men thought of the Plan. From the Razor movie line a few years ago a lot of men watch BSG. I wonder if they were offended or just transfixed by free boobies around.

I thought the boy was Cavil. Why else name him John? And it explained how he thought his parents didn't want him. But the deleted scene with the boy going to that nightmare of missing children underground confuses me, so who knows.

Nudity for plot? For reals? Naw. Maybe robot-women. The nudity here was distracting, but didn't bother me as much. I had to let go a lot to watch this. I didn't ask much of it. In the end even a Cavil fell for the fully-clothed and fallible humans. I liked Cavil in this and appreciated some snarky lines. And Simon. And even though Hooker!Six was a hooker she managed to keep her underwear on and be insightful all at the same time. I liked her. :-)

Enjoy TSCC!
