Team Jail-bait, rah rah RAH!
I have returned, alive, from the fields of battle from watching New Moon.
It was just me and Paula this time--Em saw the movie opening night (!) and Kit... alas, Kit has moved to another state. So sad. Though to be honest, Paula giggled so much that she made up for Kit's absence. (Okay, she didn't, actually. I could imagine us getting kicked out of the theater for being a disturbance if Kit had been there.)
Here's the thing: I had mentioned earlier in the evening that from the reviews I read, the Quilete pack seemed to be suffering from some mysterious disappearing shirt malady. And therefore Paula giggled every time another shirtless man appeared onscreen.
This happened a lot. (Okay, and maybe I giggled too. But she started it!) The worst was when Jacob was tending to Bella's head wound, dramatically ripping off his shirt to stanch the blood. No... maybe the worst was when Edward was about to glitter shirtless in front of the whole world.
At any rate, the first third was slow, then Jacob suddenly got really super-hot (in both senses of the word), and then some stuff happened, and we giggled at the slo-mo and then there was fast action and stuff and then... there was a proposal of marriage. And now I feel like saying "Mawaige. Mawaige is what bwings us togever today."
I giggled so much (even though I tried stifling it) that I'm kinda tired and yet still feeling super-charged. This doesn't bode well for sleep.
Can't wait for the next movie!
On to other topics. MY DOCTOR WHO SEASON FOUR DVD'S HAVE ARRIVED! I SHALL WATCH THEM THIS WEEK! WHEEEEEEE!
Relatedly, I'm curious. What does the Doctor say about religion? Has he ever expressed any belief/knowledge of a higher power? Would he be likely to do so? How about ghosts--any actual ghosts ever encountered during the show's history? I want to write a Doctor Who/Battlestar Galactica crossover, and there are reasons to delve into the religious content we've seen on BSG, and to hear the Doctor talk about it... but I'm not sure what he would say. Hm. Anyone have any thoughts?
