I always think of Dee as someone who grew up with religion as a huge part of her life--parents very devout, perhaps she was devout, as well, when she was young--but that she's moved away from it as an adult. But I imagine her as continuing to be very sympathetic to religion, perhaps continuing to practice quietly, or at least not being willing to come out and say she doesn't believe. I've always imagined, for instance, that part of her motivation for helping Roslin the times she did was because of a respect for--whether it went all the way to belief in--the idea that Roslin was fulfilling a divinely appointed role.
I definitely agree with the sympathy toward religion; I don't think that her disdain for the Sagitarron views on medicine extended to a disdain for all religions.

Hm, I'll have to think about that. Maybe rewatch the election-stealing scenes again... I seem to recall that she helped Roslin get out of the brig before that, even.
