still talking about Fringe

TV that isn't Fringe: This week's SCC rewatch post is now online.

I succumbed and started reading fanfic for Fringe. Observations:

1) BOLIVIA?! Really? (an Olivia Dunham/Peter Bishop portmanteau)

2) When exactly on the show was Peter brutishly dominant and Oliva timidly submissive? Also: "Oh Peter," the blonde agent whispered. Ahahahahaha, I'm not sure who the blonde agent is, but clearly she's not Oliva Dunham.

3) When you don't know the fandom well and don't have a handle on the authors there's a pile of fic to sort through to find the good stuff. (A small pile since this is a small fandom, but still...) This is made more difficult when trying to avoid (more) spoilers for the second half of the show. (I've watched through 2.04 so far. And I'm downloading 2.05 and it's taking forever. Why is this? Sometimes when I'm downloading a TV episode from Amazon, it's done in 15 minutes, but it's been over two hours so far and it's not even halfway done.)

4) Not really a fanfic thing, but when did Joshua Jackson suddenly become attractive? I'm bewildered by this turn of events. (It might be the change in hairstyle in late season one.)

5) I'm not sure why, but it irritates me to see 'Livia in dialogue. Yet I'm fine with the shortened Liv.

6) Apparently the season two episode "Jacksonville" must be all kinds of exciting. I think I've seen more fics tagged as spoilery for that episode than any other episode. Especially in the Olivia/Peter section of fandom.

Here's the Fringe fic I've found and liked so far. A little bit of everyone. Hm, except Nina Sharpe.

Feel free to link me to good fic that doesn't contain spoilers past 2.04.

O_O Ah man there is this really amazing somewhat AU fic that I want you to read when you get done with season 2. It's Peter POV and just kind of blew me away.

I'll just leave this here for when you are ready: http://yahtzee63.livejournal.com/458398.html

I kept seeing that one recced everywhere. Heh. Frustrating that I can't read it yet, though I just ordered the DVDs.

1. When I first started seeing tags for Bolivia, I thought for half a second that there was this whole group of really dedicated Olivia/Broyles shippers out there. True fact.

6. And ahaha, I forgot the (relative) explosion of shippy fic after Jacksonville. I should really go sort through some more Fringe fic soon. And fend off the desire to rewatch everything, since my memory's starting to be a little fuzzy on the eps you're on!

1. Heeeeee! That's kind of awesome. (Rather like the time I thought there was a group of James Ellison/Cameron shippers when I first saw "Jameron." Portmanteaux are stupid, and often misleading.)

6. Heh. The only reason I'm not rewatching all of season one right now (while waiting for the DVD's to arrive) is that the WB's website seems to be very glitchy for me.
