TV: "The Killing" day 3, more Fringe
Day three of The Killing was a good continuation, although I'm still pretending the bits with CKR aren't happening. Mostly because I'm probably going to dislike somebody in that relationship by the end, and it's frustrating. "Just until the weekend" and there are thirteen episodes?! So this is going to happen again. Either her boss will push or she'll stay on her own, but either way, we're likely doomed to have more uncomfortable phone conversations with these two.
I want "How Sarah and Rick met" fic now. CKR was pretty adorable as Rick in the opening episode. And the joking about Candy Cane was cute. I want fic, with Linden being stoic and Rick getting past her armor. Apparently the novelty of Rennie the non-creepy boyfriend is REALLY INTERESTING, in spite of his brief screen time.
Moving on. Apparently Rosie went into The Cage willingly with her former boyfriend. The ensuing sex includes one of his friends, and we don't see consent on Rosie's part (although we also didn't see the whole video). Oh, Rosie. Bleh, creepy ex-boyfriend is now even more horrible, as is his drug-dealing friend. (Did we actually see Rosie's face in the video? We saw the pink wig on the girl...)
Holder: "I never had dinner with my mom, and look at me." (I'm not sure of the exact wording there. Going by memory.) Hah, thanks Holder. That's so very reassuring.
Richmond gets his endorsement. More of a politician than we might have thought from the first two episodes. Jamie appears to be the mole in his office, but we still have ten more episodes after this, so a frame job is possible.
Richmond's wife is dead? Murdered? Hard to be sure at this point.
Mitch Larsen broke my heart again. That bathtub scene... *sobs* It's almost hard to watch the Larsen family's grief.
Fringe: spoilers through 2.15 "Jacksonville"
2.13 "What Lies Below" has Peter under the sway of a virus. He runs around in his tank top, smeared with fake sweat.
Um. Did other things happen? Oh yeah, he almost died and Olivia saved the day and in the beginning Walter was telling children horrifying stories about theoretical monsters under their beds. Heeeeeee!
2.14 "The Bishop Revival" The one with the still-living Nazi who goes around releasing toxins in the air that are targeted for specific human traits. The Nazi is dead by the end (thanks to Walter), so it was never revealed that he's apparently long-lived and remarkably youthful in appearance.
Also, Walter got married in a purple tux, and he still has it somewhere. I want that fic now... Walter wearing the purple tux, trying to convince Peter that he needs to wear it in his marriage to Olivia. (That's the other thing: Walter is now quite the Olivia/Peter shipper.)
Peter once sold his grandfather's books, to spite Walter.
2.15 "Jacksonville" The episode that launched a LOT of shippy Olivia/Peter fics. I tried reading some of the post-episode stories. Most of them don't work for me, simply because this is a really big obstacle: another secret Olivia will feel bound to keep for now, and it's about Peter himself. Also, trying to kiss someone who looks all glimmery would be a bit... odd. Heh.
Oh, and the other stuff--well, Walter was a horrible human being (experimenting on children), which we already knew. Olivia once caused a not-insignificant fire with her mind, back when she was three or so and called Olive.
A whole building disappeared in New York! And they misspelled Manhattan in the looming letter thingies. The internet tells me I'm supposed to catch that as a clue that this is not our Manhattan. (The internet underestimates my belief in the pervasiveness of bad spelling.)
In other Fringe-related news, I'm writing Peter Bishop fic. Yes, really. There's already a Shakespeare reference. Possibly this is another sign of the impending end of the world(s).
