rose_griffes: Person of Interest on CBS (person of interest)

TV made me have thoughts and feelings this week

I'm watching Prime Suspect every week. It's enjoyable! Yet I don't really have anything to say about it right now.

Parks and Recreation 4.06 made me giggle a lot at how Jerry was used in this episode. Best Jerry appearance that I can recall!

As for Revenge this week, here's the problem with Nolan manipulating Tyler into offering sex: it reminds me that Daniel Grayson is being manipulated in a similar way. While I don't want to feel like the show is condoning Amanda/Emily's path, I'm not sure I want to be constantly reminded of exactly how icky it is that she's having sex with Daniel.

Plus I'm starting to like Daniel Grayson. I wonder what he would be like away from his parents and away from people like Tyler? (I've wondered how much Tyler influenced Daniel last summer; the whole car accident could've been a Tyler set-up of some kind. Hard to say. Daniel has been too easily swayed by the people around him and Emily is, weirdly enough, something of a good influence on him so far in that respect. Which... my brain hurts just thinking about this.

The real Emily Thorne's appearance will keep me tuned in for next week, though. That was a fun twist. (Sorry, Frank! He's dead, right? Not "in a coma"? Bit of a shame; Max Martini is indeed TV pretty, even though he plays a creepy guy.)

The CBS website has been glitchy multiple times when I've watched episodes of Person of Interest. Annoying!

This is sort of a moment-by-moment account because I'm watching it a second time. Yup, awesome episode. (I did the same thing with last week's episode. I think it's official: I'm hooked at this point.)

So Burton/Elias was waiting in his apartment for his men to show up, but they didn't show up until after the Russian mob was there. Elias should have had a better plan, right? Either way, 'sweet' Charlie Burton certainly played Reese once he realized Reese was going to be a way out.

Lionel Fusco called Reese for help for an 'innocent'! Awww.

(That other cop--not Carter, not Fusco--he's the Geico ad guy! That's really distracting.)

I like the whole 'stuck without technology' bit. Nice way to rev up the tension. Batman without gadgets! The problem is that Reese, while smart and quick, isn't always good with his guesses and predictions about people and their motivations.

Bulgarian drug dealers control that whole building complex? Dang.

James Caviezel looked totally awesome ducking under the cardoor, shooting that guy's kneecap. James Caviezel looks totally awesome doing many things, though. I'm pretty sure this is a large part of my fannishness for this show: Caviezel runs around in his suits, hits/shoots people, and looks gorgeous while doing so.

Finch knows how to set up a bank ATM to give him video feed? Duuuuuuuude.

Speaking of pretty people on TV, Carter looks lovely too.

Finch gets desperate enough to contact Fusco.

Hee, Reese's "pharmacy" visit... this show does have a sense of humor now and then.

"You learn all this in hero training?" Heh. Reese is weirdly bad receiving thanks.

Finch gets the 'stolen' car tracked and bugged--clever.

I liked all of the conversation between 'Burton' and his student. The Count of Monte Cristo is even more appropriate now that we know who Burton really is and why he's teaching in that area. Interesting that Burton seems to have been likeable and competent at his job.

Mr. Burton tells Will, "I owe you one." Wonder if he'll have to pay up someday?

Ooh, Reese takes that one guy Enver whatsit hostage!

Carter and Geico guy pay a visit to to Papa Russian mobster.

Nobody owns any kind of phone other than an iPhone in this version of New York City.

Aaaaaaand Enver whatsit reveals that Reese has been saving the life of Elias. D'aww, poor Reese. Offered a job by Elias, too. That's rough.

Carter finds out who Elias is at the same time, from the older son of the mobster.

And now that mobster is dead. He didn't leave town, even though shot-in-the-kneecap Enver probably did pass along the message.

So this means we'll have recurring appearances by Enrico Colantoni, right? FANTASTIC!

Speaking of recurring appearances, imdb.com lists Paige Turco (Zoe Morgan) for this episode, even though we didn't see her. I AM VERY DISMAYED! And excited at the same time, because maybe she'll show up later this season! THAT WOULD BE AMAAAAAZING 'CAUSE I LOVE HER!

And now I need to look for/make an icon for this show. This one will do for now.

Absolutely agreed. ;) I'm digging the strong silent type he's rocking.

I knew that other cop looked familiar. And Keith Mars as mobster certainly presents some interesting possibilities.

It took me long enough to figure it out, but as soon as I did, it was just disconcerting. I'm glad he doesn't have that weird voice all the time, though.

Keith Mars, mobster! :D
