TV: more Fringe talk
Fringe. So icky. Still watching some episodes with the window tiny tiny tiny to minimize the bleurgh. Quick overview of my thoughts about episodes 3.18-3.22
3.18 Bloodline Other Olivia gets an accelerated pregnancy from Mysterious Forces, which turns out to be Walternate. (Why Walternate couldn't just ask--or even tell!--other Olivia that they were going to do this is beyond me...) Their Lincoln Lee and Charlie run around to find her. Lincoln Lee is there for the delivery, and both mother and baby are fine.
3.19 Lysergic Acid Diethylamide: an awesome, trippy (in the drug usage sense of the word) episode. William Bell as a cartoon in Olivia's head, the group sharing an LSD trip. I could rave about it; not that it's perfect, but it was such an interesting and original episode.
3.20 6:02 am EST shows that The Infernal Machine is going to be problematic. Plagues of locusts! Peter getting knocked out when he tries to climb in the machine! I think I'll appropriate one of the terms I saw out there: Doomsday Machine, or DM.
3.21 The Last Sam Weiss. So it turns out Sam Weiss is sort of like those mythical knights guarding the holy Grail or something. Hee. And there are lightning storms and a 'crowbar' to stop the DM, only the crowbar is our Olivia. Peter's brain bits are scrambled after his concussion but he eventually gets to the DM and Olivia forces the DM open WITH HER MIND and then...
3.22 The Day We Died. So Peter wakes up fifteen years in the future and lives through a bunch of stuff, like Walternate SHOOTING OUR OLIVIA IN THE HEAD! And this world is miserable because Peter in the machine destroyed red-haired Olivia's world and now ours is DOOOOOMED! Doomsday machine indeed. Only he gets to remember all that and go through the machine-thingy again through the power of timey-wimeyness and he changes it one more time! And the two worlds now share Liberty Island! Except there's a catch! Peter went *poof* and nobody remembers him!
hahaha, this show takes its own brand of crazy very seriously.
I couldn't wait to start season four, so here are spoilers for episodes 1-2
4.01 Neither Here Nor There. Heee, a show with a huge retcon that actually fits the storyline. Since Peter never existed, there's no baby on the other side. Our Walter Bishop is a recluse who sleeps in his lab. Our Astrid ACTUALLY GETS TO LEAVE THE LAB on occasion! Oh, and our Lincoln Lee is back, but he hasn't interacted with Olivia (or William Bell acting like Olivia) before. He's got an FBI partner who goes and gets himself killed by some new kind of shapeshifter/translucent skin dude.
I still stand by my totally irrational feelings: that Lincoln Lee on the other side is THE WORST! And he has stupid hair. Our Lincoln Lee is cute and I want to pinch his cheeks.
4.02 One Night in October. SO GROSS, UGH. I have such a cringe reaction to anything with brains being cut into unnecessarily. BLEURGH. (Still nauseated as I type this. Of course, I did just finish watching maybe fifteen minutes.) So serial killer dude on the other side has his mirror image on this side, only he's a professor who studies serial killers! And other Olivia thinks it's a good idea to bring professor dude over to analyze the home of killer dude! And I wanna shriek NOOOOOOOO at my tv, heh. Only they did catch serial killer dude and professor dude is PROBABLY not going to become a serial killer.
I probably need to start rationing out the remaining five episodes. The show comes back January 13.

Although it's pretty obvious he's going to be back. *shrugs*
I rewatched part of 4.02 and I'm still amused at my ongoing disdain for the other Lincoln. Being amused at myself isn't making the disdain go away, though. heh.
