rose_griffes: Wonder-Woman carries Batman (wonderwoman-batman)

just let me love you! (in a non-threatening way!)

Stole this from Ray.

A: Comment to this post if you want me to tell you why I think you're fabulous.

and/or

B: Give me a link to one of your stories (or vids, or meta posts, or something else) that you want me to see and I will flail about that instead/ or as well. It can be something I've already commented on (and you want more detailed feedback), or something I missed, or whatever.
chaila: by me (tscc - james is hotter than you)

This comment definitely serves its purpose of making me happy! (I have enough Ellison icons for everyone, never fear). Vidding and meta would be no fun if there weren't people to see them. Nothing makes me happier than someone who loves a show I do telling me they see something new in my vid, whatever that thing was that I saw in the show that inspired me to make a vid.

Plus, we both know the value of having safe spaces to squee about female characters. And James. <3

Since I've been having a pretty crap (as in depths of depression and I don't even know why) couple of days, consider this me commenting and you may choose whichever option you feel more strongly about. Hearing nice things about me or about my fic, either one will help.

It's easy to keep part of ourselves hidden with just an online presence, but a lot of who we really are slips out anyway, over time. (And wow, I think it's been at least four years since I put you on my reading list?) Anyway, your voice feels very compassionate. I love your fanfic (lots!), and your enthusiasm for all fan-related endeavors, but I also really appreciate your humor and caring and thoughtfulness.

And your generosity, too. You've been a last-minute beta-reader for me more than once, you're openly appreciative of other people's work--I think you're the first person who recced one of my fics, by the way--and you're always so supportive.

And even talking about depression--it's reassuring when I'm reminded that 1) I'm not the only one and 2) there are still good things out there that we can enjoy, even if depression makes it less easy to appreciate those things than it could be.

(Huh, this comment went sideways from where I expected to go. But I've been mulling over making another public post about depression, so that sort of jumped in.)

I think I'll stop tinkering with this and click 'add comment.' Though I reserve the right to edit if the grammar police come knocking in my brain. ;-)

Well, I think I gave you the grammar police PLENTY of time to edit if they were going to. ;)

Thank you. Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you. Today was better than yesterday and part of that was you and your kindness. I'm so glad we stumbled across each other on LJ and I'd like to someday meet you in person, if we're ever in the same general space and time.

The first one, please!

*enthusiastic waving* YOU! ARE AWESOME! I'm so glad to count you as an LJ friend and real-life friend. It's an honor, seriously. I've admired your ability to express yourself in writing, both in fanfic and other kinds of posts and comments, and that has only increased over time. I'm so glad that I took the initiative for once and added you to my LJ friends list. (I still don't do that very often--add someone before they add me... I tell myself I'm over that weird shyness, but I'm not.)

Anyway, I'm glad I met the person carrying around the brain that I've been admiring for a long time. Heh. While we only show certain parts of ourselves online, you are very authentic (for lack of a better word), and that made meeting you in person enjoyable, and something I'm looking forward to doing again.

*hugs*

Aww, what a sweet message! I was just thinking about when we met just a few minutes ago. I was thinking about Kara/Leoben fic of all things and I remember writing about them and discussing them, mostly because someone was commenting in my journal! I'm so happy you added me and talked to me back then. I'm still happy when someone comments in my journal and adds me, but back then you were one of the first! I still remember our talks and you realizing,"Oh noes, Daybreak doesn't love Leoben as much as mee!" Hee! Nope! But that didn't mean we couldn't be great friends and keep discussing him (for years) anyway. :D

Your icon is very appropriate. We giggle so much during chats. Still! Thanks for that because over the years at times, sometimes I've really needed those giggles.

Hope we do see each other in RL soon. If not, there is still much chatting to do!

The exchange of squee and flail is always welcome! :)

Even though my BSG muse has been dormant lately, I still love your enthusiasm for everything about the show. You have such appreciation for the characters, and that shows in what you write.

And I totally enjoy your fun non-fic LJ posts, which is a big reason why I keep hanging around, even with a dormant BSG muse. You're funny and sincere and your posts frequently make me smile.

And writing, yay! I just really like hanging around other people who like to write. (Or, y'know, hate to write, but I'm weird like that, so... heh.)

My inception / POI crossover - so somebody will kick my butt to finish this.

I haven't seen the movie yet! But 1) it's about third down in my Netflix queue and 2) I've been meaning to read your fic as soon as I watched the movie. So consider this an incentive to finish the story before I catch up? Heh. (This gives you a couple of weeks, since I won't be able to watch the current disk until I'm done with... stuff.)
