We were talking about British actors using American accents; Idris Elba's name came up, so out of curiosity I watched one two of his episodes of The Office. It reminded me of why I didn't have enough interest in the show to watch it on its own merits; there's Michael Scott and there's my low tolerance for embarrassment comedy. Aie. Just can't do it.
It looked really nice on my thirty-two inch TV, though. I didn't actually cave and buy an HDTV; my brother had an extra one due to household consolidation, so he had it shipped to me rather than letting it rot in the basement inside its box. (Even without any special equipment, Netflix looked pretty good on the screen. And with the screen so large, I didn't have to wear reading glasses while I scrolled through the online menus.)
I guess the question now is do I buy a blu-ray player. Does it really make that much difference?
Oh, and I have to order a TV antenna. Theoretically my home can get CBS's signal here with a medium directional antenna. At least that's what antennaweb.org tells me. (And right now? CBS is the only network airing a show that I watch that I can't legally watch online. So...)
