time is what you need
Oh, hey there.
TV: Supergirl is off my watch list because 1) it was too hard to stay caught up without episodes on hulu.com, and 2) bad treatment of James Olsen. I may binge-watch on Netflix after season two ends, but it depends on the final result of #2.
The Flash has the same problem in terms of accessibility, but it hasn't yet sidelined an important character of color and swapped his/her romance for a white character yet, so I probably will watch it on Netflix when season four is done.
I finished The Good Place last night and I'm still laughing over some bits and mulling over others. It was a wild ride.
NBC's Timeless is absolutely precious to me. If you're curious, give it two episodes, because the pilot is solid, but some elements really need a second episode to pull together. Fingers crossed that it gets renewed. (Season finale tomorrow night, I think?)
Superstore lost me early in season two. Too many resets on previously-established characterization.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine is still good, although there's a mid-season hiatus right now.
Oh! Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has actually been interesting enough for me to watch as it airs this season! Usually I binge-watch during the summer.
Emerald City is kinda trash, but it's gorgeous trash. Tarsem Singh (The Fall, The Cell) directed all of the episodes. It's worth a watch just for the visuals. I think the season finale was last night? Haven't had a chance to watch yet.
I've seen four episodes of This Is Us, and I'm absolutely planning on catching up on the rest soon. Which should be easier now that Timeless and Emerald City are done/almost done with their first seasons.
Undecided about Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. It teeters on that line between funny and squirming in embarrassment for me. (I think it's on season two, but I'm in early season one.)

Just to show you were I was this weekend:
- I watched 20 minutes of the Lego Batman movie. I left when he made the Joker said and said the joker wasn't his arch nemesis and he didn't need anyone. Joker had tears in his Lego animated eyes. It was funny and sad at the same time.
- Law and Order: SVU Season 18, baby! It's so familiar that I love it
- Black*ish. Sometimes I need a half hour show and this one grew on me.
- Call the Midwife season 6. Awesomeness. Best thing on TV.
- PBS - John Lewis documentary. Had to learn more about this guy after Trump said he was all talk and no action last week? What?! John Lewis led the march at Selma. The first march when things went terribly, terribly wrong. I had to learn about this man.
I think that's it. I eagerly await Underground and The Handmaid's Tale in the next two months. Did you see Hidden Figures?

I plan to watch season one of Underground soon. Two of the hour-long shows I listed up there are ending in the next week or two, so I'll have a bit more time to squeeze something else in.
The Handmaid's Tale is a series? Or will be? I don't know about this.
I did see Hidden Figures, and absolutely loved it!

The show is very violent and disturbing but I've been watching it for 18 years. And in a way, the SVU are like vets. In there way they take people who are hurt and try to help and get justice for them. Olivia will never give up. One of my favorite eps is when Olivia is on the phone with the Latina little girl who is being abused and being put into porn. Olivia just keeps her talking on the cell phone, trying to find her. It ends grimly. The guy took the phone and buried the little girl half-drugged and Olivia dug her up. And she pulling the plastic from this child, resusitated her and the girl recognized her voice and the first thing she said was, 'Olivia'. Guh. That ep killed me. Olivia's tenacity saves lives. She found that girl, found her in the dirt when it looked hopeless.
And I knew she would. This is why I watch. :-)
What about Call the Midwife? There is a nice, gentle show for you?
The Handmaid's Tale will be on Amazon? Elizabeth Moss will portray Offred. That girl from Gilmore Girls will portray Ofglen. In April.
Hidden Figures was AWESOME.
TV!
That did it for me, too. I just can't get excited about the show after they sidelined him in that way. The CW has never been good with race; this was just so brazen I couldn't get past it.
I mostly watch 3 shows these days: The Americans, The 100 and It's Always Sunny. I realize the irony in this, as those shows are also racially problematic, but that's obviously not the only reason I chose to/not to watch a show. Supergirl just went too far.
And I echo daybreak777 - looking forward to Underground coming back, and to The Handmaid's Tale!!
RE: TV!
I'm going to try Underground soon-ish, now that Timeless and Emerald City are ending.

I watch none of those (except the Good Place, but I'm only halfway through, so no spoilers please :)), but Timeless sounds pretty interesting. I saw some tumblr posts of yours about it, too.
I'm in a strange "new show" mood right now, it's actually looking like I might finally get to watch some new stuff.
Oh, and I was going to watch Agents of Shield, too, but am still stuck mid-first-season. It's on my list, though.

(I actually skipped most of season one. I tried the show early on, got bored, and only went back after the Hydra stuff began. And I don't regret it.)

Really, really enjoyed the first season. Just a really well done show.
Agents of SHIELD has fallen off my "must watch live" list (along with just about everything else this fall) and is patiently waiting on my DVR for me to find time to get to it.
Have you watched The Expanse? Wil Wheaton raved about it, so I taped the first season when they did a marathon, and we're in the middle of season two right now. It's really quite well done scifi in that they talk about things like needing air and water in outer space, which people always seen to ignore unless they need drama. They have a very multicultural cast. I really enjoy Shohreh Aghdashloo as the UN Assistant Undersecretary. There's a Canadian-Iranian actor, a British-Dominican actress, and now they've added a New Zealand-Samoan actress for season two.

Part of why AoS has improved for me personally is that Mack has finally gotten a bit more of the narrative. So I'm enjoying his screen time.
