I'm looking forward to the finale of Game of Thrones. Not because I watch the show; it's about the inevitable reaction of the fans, whose disappointment in season eight has been EPIC.
On the topic of fannish backlash, I've made a rare find: a youtuber who didn't like Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but who doesn't give racist or misogynistic reasons for her dislike.
Currently reading No One Can Pronounce My Name, by Rakesh Satyal. Will report back when I finish.

I'm pleasantly surprised that ontd is still the wild place that I remember. Tho without ontd, we wouldn't have had ontd_startrek!

Well, at least, Georges R.R. Martin is sure his next book will be a hit. :D

I like that video review. So much of TLJ criticism is people who don't like the sequels in general (which is fine, but something not being to your taste=/=criticism) and the anti-SJWs, and it's nice to see someone rationally lay out the case for why it sucks as a movie.

TLJ criticism: gah, I've started so many videos and clicked away as soon as they mention "forced diversity" or "feminists ruining Star Wars" or "Finn should have died to complete his arc". Or any number of other warning signs. Yikes. So yes, this one was a pleasant surprise for its thoughtful points.
