I paused Bridgerton because a) I wasn't sure I wanted to continue, and b) Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season seven! On Netflix! Although it may have been there for a while; I don't know. I used to get notifications when new seasons showed up for shows in my watchlist, but that appears to have ended.
I think the writers were feeling the freedom of FINAL SEASON, let's just do whatever we want! Which has been fun to watch, for the most part. I'm hoping that Elena and Mack get more overtly romantic material than what we've had so far; given that it's rare to see an interracial couple that doesn't include anyone white, and a couple where both people are NOT in their 20s or early 30s is also rare... but mostly, I'm hoping for more shippy material because I DO ship them.
To be blunt, though, the writers have never really done enough with these two characters or their relationship. *sigh*
As for moving foward in time, complete with era-appropriate opening credits - FUN! I love it!
Not at all opposed to the romance that is apparently coming up for one of the leads; I'll avoid mentioning the specifics, since it happens later this season, but mostly it's a matter of "Oh thank goodness, I don't have to watch [other potential pairing] become canon".
Anyway. Still not better (yet) than the season with Ghostrider, but very enjoyable.
Different topic: anyone have recs for podcasts? I'm listening to things as I first try to sleep, because it helps for squishing those annoying bedtime thoughts, but I'm almost out of episodes of Gastropod now. (It's about the science and history of food: perfect for that sweet spot of "interesting, but not so engaging that I end up staying awake".)
