can't sleep, monsters will eat me

I started watching the Netflix show Midnight Mass after listening to a podcast where a couple of the guests talked about it, and a) it really is quite good, but also b) SO TENSE.

I doubt I would have started watching it without having a fairly good sense of the story ahead of time; just look at the poster! Horror is not my genre, for the most part.

From listening to the podcast: I was promised themes! Religion versus atheism! Human villains as opposed to the supernatural! All of which the show delivers, and in an interesting and well-acted fashion, but also, aaaaaah, everything is so tense!!! AND THERE ARE MONSTERS! And if [insert character name here] dies, which I strongly suspect will happen, I'm going to be VERY UPSET!

Anyway. Note to self: do NOT watch this show too close to bedtime.

Yeah, I've been holding off - I've seen Haunting of Hill House, and House of Bly, and this one is supposed to be scarier in some respects. Plus, I spend a lot of time avoiding tension.

But I do know a lot about it - so maybe it won't bother me all that much. (shrugs)
