disappointing

Looks like Disney has no plans to release their shows on physical media. And why would they? It doesn't make sense, with their streaming platform as their current big project. Anyway, I guess I'm subscribing to Disney+ for another month, given that I'm still in a "brain being eaten, help!" stage with Andor. Gah.

So how are your brains y'all doing? Anything else* I should watch on Disney in February? Assuming that I can tear myself away from Andor long enough to do so?

*I haven't tried Star Wars Rebels yet. Going to give it a try, even though there's something about digital animation in a longer format (tv show versus film) that I find less appealing. We'll see.

This current obsession better subside enough for me to switch over to Netflix in March. I do want to see the second season of Shadow & Bone. Very curious how they'll work out another section of concurrent Grisha and Crow hijinx.

I've resorted to pirating almost all media, even if I have a subscription for it. I can't be bothered to check every time I'm interested in a new show if I have access or not.

I hope you manage to stay with Rebels, it definitely grows on you. Disney+ has a lot of fannish content, both in terms of canon stuff and behind-the-scenes docs and such. Are you interested only in Star Wars stuff?

I think favorite Rebels episodes may vary by how much you like certain characters or types of stories, but I have to say the season finales for both 3 and 4 were pretty strong. I would definitely recommend Clone Wars as well, but I began backwards myself, first with Rebels and then going back to Clone Wars. There is definitely continuity between the two shows but I think Rebels may be an easier watch just because the main characters are entirely new, and the series is shorter, making for a quicker view.

So if it turns out you like it, you'll have more reasons to give Clone Wars a go. Besides Star Wars and Marvel content, there are a number of interesting documentaries -- certainly in the Smithsonian vertical, but also in the Disney one. And there are lots of charming animated shorts.

I personally liked the show Big Shot, though I've yet to finish the second season because of our race to watch content on our 2 month BritBox subscription.

Willow! I also really like the documentaries Chris Hemsworth did (one about sharks and one about life and death), because he goes full weirdo and it's adorable.

Oh, and the DuckTales reboot, because I am a broken record wrt to that one.

I am so mad about the No Physical Copies think. I WANT RINGS OF POWER. Like, I'm still gonna stream it, but I want to have it on my shelf to look at (and, you know, take to the cottage).
