Yay, a fun beginning to L.A.W. yesterday! I'm so amused at some of the responses. (And hey, only 22% of you so far have questioned my sanity. I'm very relieved.)

daybreak777's Kara Thrace Appreciation Week. What's your favorite scene with Leoben? Anything from the mini-series through season three is fair game (including 'Razor'). Theoretically you should limit yourself to two scenes. Good luck with that. *g*

I wouldn't call these my all-time favorite scenes--honestly, that's hard to choose. But these two scenes are very enjoyable.

1) 3.01 Occupation/Precipice. When Leoben downloads and comes back to the Insane Robot Love Shack with this opening line: "Hi, honey, I'm home." *snerk* And he gives Kara this oh-so-sincere speech about helping her see the "truth" of her life, and he's Just Completely Nuts and I love it.

2) 'Flesh and Bone'--Leoben tells Laura not to judge Kara too harshly because the military teaches people to dehumanize... Ha!

Obviously I have a twisted sense of humor.

Shortly before posting this I realized that we'll be out of scenes to choose from soon without repetition. (Not that you can't repeat someone else's choice, but it does make the whole thing a bit less fun.)

Some of you write, some of you make videos, maybe your creative fandom endeavor is to do analysis... maybe you just sit back and appreciate all of it. Whatever the case may be, chances are you've had a stray thought cross your mind--something you'd like to read or see but you'll never do it yourself for whatever reason. Why not ~~show us how crazy you are~~ share your creative ideas.

I've never done any vidding, so all my ideas have been fic-related so far.

For the record, I have written and posted (though not linked to a comm) the following weird Leoben-related stories:

Though it may not seem like it from the previous list, there are some plot bunnies that I've resisted. The strangest so far is a BSG/Buffy crossover.* Leoben's on Earth, a vampire tries to bite him, Buffy charges in to save the day with interference from Spike, who says that Leoben smells 'mostly' human and... okay, I have more than this written, I just don't want to confess any further. *g* (two notes: one, there's not a lot written; and two, no one but me will ever see it)

On a slightly less insane note, I really want some fic with Laura and Leoben.** A season three episode insert maybe, with her interrogating the Leoben who was taken aboard Galactica (before Helo suffocated them); or Leoben talking to Laura in the New Caprica detention center... I have a hard time writing dialogue, so nothing from this idea has really gelled for me.

-I like the scene in Flesh and Bone where he gives the Kara Thrace exposition speech. Is that cheating? ;) Primarily I liked it because we learn of this whole new layer to Kara, but the looks on both their faces are so moving.

-When he tells Kara about Kacey's surrogate mother and how she has a difficult but rewarding path and she'll know the mind of God in this lifetime. It was so effective it fooled ME - I started to think Kacey must really be Kara's too, and I was sure they were going to kill her so as not to "saddle Kara with a kid." I mean, I kind of hate him for that too because he basically broke Kara for the rest of the season, but hey, give the evil genius credit where it's due. ;) And I even wonder if he might have been mixing lies with the truth there - i.e., maybe he was telling the truth, only about Kara and not Kacey.

Considering my own fascination with that whole episode, I'll give you a pass. *g*

I kind of hate him for that too because he basically broke Kara for the rest of the season, but hey, give the evil genius credit where it's due.

Yeah, that was one effective speech. Especially with that juxtaposition of Leoben's calm demeanor, Kara's absolutely freaked-out expression, and the adorable tyke obliviously playing with blocks.

Okay, my beloved scenes are:

I.In Flesh and Bone. When Leoben is in the airlocke and Kara goes one step forward and puts her hand on the glass between her and Leoben. Their hands meets together in a way... I like the scene because of Karas reaction. She is always the hard fighter, the tough girl who hates the cylon but she is also a fantastic woman who can give a foe something true, something hope. I don't know if you understand my bad englisch but that's it in this scene.

II. In Occupation (?). The end when Kara goes to get Kacey. She meets Leoben and he wants a kiss from her. She kisses him. He said "and mean it" and I'm melting away... I'm a very crazy person too.

I've written a 200 words with 100 prompts table of Kara/Leoben in german (http://dreamers-dh.livejournal.com/65429.html) and sometime I'm loosing the way the story/drabbles should go. It's very annoying but I look the show in englisch, I read ff ins englisch and most of the fans are englisch spoken and then I have lots of plots in my head but I can't wrote them down because of the other speak. It's very hard to explain.
I would like to read a Kara/Leoben fic set after the end of Season 4. I hope they can manage to find Earth and the two of them have a meeting after everything is over (you know I mean the war, the search, all the bad feelings, the hate). I want a new beginning and this time a really new beginning for human Kara and cylon Leoben with lots of cute scenes. *sends plot bunny on his way*

Oh, there is one scene too I must put it in the line...

When Kacey is hurt and lying in bed. Kara tooks Leobens hand and he is watching her. Only a single second but I love it!

Yes, that moment of Kara showing compassion for the enemy, showing that they've made some kind of connection is a favorite of mine as well.

Well, I spent over a year in France and still find it difficult to express myself emotionally in French. I can't imagine trying to write fiction in any language other than English, since it's my native language. But yay, it's great that you write fanfic, even if most of us don't get to read it.

Hmm . . . favorite scenes. Well, I'd have to put that I like the Kiss in Exodus 2. Why? Because it made me all kinds of squirmy uncomfortable, and yet I could feel the chemistry, the something those two have despite squirming. I was compelled to watch it, um, many times. Callum and Katee are so good. I've thought about that scene a good deal so it was effective.

Second, Head!Leoben in Kara's head. When he looks like this icon, trying to talk to her in her head, when he agrees that he's not Leoben. He looks so kind, so reflective, so human. Like he's trying so patiently hard with her, even though you know you probably shouldn't trust him you almost can. Who the heck was Head!Leoben, anyway? Again, I like scenes that make me think, where who is good or bad is ambiguous.

I have Leoben!fic ideas! I'm supposed to be writing them! Ack! This was a difficult week for me and the Leoben muse hasn't been able to strike. What I'd like to see? I second the Leoben and Laura. Also Leoben alone on the basestar. What does he do there? And more Head!Leoben and Kara. Because I don't think we'll see Head!Leoben again and that's a shame. He was interesting.

I haven't heard anything about not having CKR back next season, so I'm guessing some kind of Leoben will be around; the question is which one? I'm always glad to see him onscreen--I can't decide which I'd rather have. (Okay, actually I can, but my inner Kara-fan feels guilty about confessing that I'd rather see the real Leoben doing twisty mind games rather than helpful head!Leoben trying to deal with Kara's many, many issues. But I'll take whatever comes along. And hey, maybe whatever Leoben is around will get to spend time with someone besides Kara? Just for a change? *is hopeful*)

I second the Leoben and Laura.
Maybe if I get fic posted this week (it's looking hopeful), I'll poke at the whole Leoben-Laura idea. But ack! I'm really struggling with the Leoben/Six fic; I'm not sure I'm ready to jump into something dialogue-heavy right after it since that's not my strong point. *sigh*
