quick episode reaction
Before I go reading everyone else's reaction, I just have to say WHEEEEE! I thought it was awesome. I particularly liked Helo having to deal with the Eights and Roslin talking to head!Elosha. So in spite of a sad lack of Leoben (what! he could fly a ship!!!) and Kara (gimme Kara, pleeeeeeeeaaaaase!), I say thumbs up.
I laughed out loud more than once, shuddered and felt nauseated a couple of times, and got a bit teary-eyed. Possibly I'll go back and logically connect all the dots and decide this wasn't actually that good, but right now I'm feeling the BSG love, baby!
eta: and where's Sammy? Man, I'm shocked how positive my initial reaction is, considering my three favorite characters weren't in this episode. But Helo was great! And Laura! So I guess that makes up for it!
Also, D'Anna was very fun--sometimes she irritated me in season three, but not this episode. I loved her taking out Brother Cavil in front of Boomer--hee!
more eta: How could I forget to mention Laura and Gaius both yelling at the hybrid! Ahahahahahahah! And then it seemed like she actually listened to Gaius for a moment and stopped jumping--but not so much, actually. Hah!
And Gaius trying to convert the centurion was just awesome. I love episodes with sly humor. That made me grin.
I'm going to sign in to AIM early this afternoon if anyone wants to chat. That's probably when I'll go read what everyone else thought, too.

I think Mary and James held this whole episode. Helo, strangely didn't impress me. And I thought he was so great on the Demetrius but he seemed to flounder here. I don't think Helo does so well without an Eight to play off and that's interesting.
gimme Kara, pleeeeeeeeaaaaase!
Hee! Well, yeah! And somewhere out there there are all the lost Leoben scenes. Someone should splice 'em all together for one wild bootleg DVD. Would make lots of money. ;-)

someone elseit was probably on your post that it was pointed out the 'Christmas Carol' connection and I immediately realized that was part of why I liked it. I do love that type of story, you're right. And somewhere out there there are all the lost Leoben scenes. Someone should splice 'em all together for one wild bootleg DVD. Would make lots of money. ;-)
I'd buy it! I didn't even notice his name in the credit, but apparently it was. (Probably I would've been annoyed if I had noticed, so it's just as well.)

Sam is back with the Fleet, and he's in the promo for next week, which also features lots of Kara. That's all I know, since apparently it was very spoilery.

It was, but I need to watch those scenes again when I'm not worrying he's going to spark an ill-timed revolution, heh.

I KNOW! I was so amused and at the same time worrying--do other centurions have the capability to listen to what's going on with their comrades? Can the information be shared after 'death'? (Do they download?)

Good to know we'll get Sam again. I'm so glad I didn't watch the spoilers for this week--that line from D'Anna to Laura about being one of the FF was so awesomely funny, and apparently that was in the promo. Reinforcement for staying promo-free!
