one more voice in the chorus

I wasn't going to make a post about this episode because I took a short trip this weekend and while I was gone my f'list exploded with entries about it. Stop being so prolific, y'all are making me feel inhibited! hee! And then I had some bad news when I got back home, which threw me for a loop. But I just have to say...

Bwahahahaha, Kara managed to freak out Leoben. yeah, it's weird that he reacted that way, but I was nonetheless amused

Also, Kara finding her own dead body?! And then being all mature about it when she tried to talk to Lee? I don't even know what to think.

RDM managed to start doing one of the things on my wish list (explain what makes the Dylan Four different), but also ruin another (no more killing female characters!). Oh, Dee... *sniff* I liked Anastasia Dualla.

Tigh was just awesome.

I'm curious about some of the finer points of the 13th colony, the Final Five cylons, children born via sexual reproduction, and so forth. Such as who exactly inhabited this Earth? Only twelve cylon models? Only those five?!! They had to have sexual reproduction, which means that they aren't all identical, right? So who gets downloaded? Why those four? or five...

As for Ellen, well, at least the final cylon is female, which gives a bit more gender balance to the twelve. And I don't automatically hate the idea--I'm curious what they'll do with it. Is she going to be back now? Here's what I said almost two years ago in my post about 'Crossroads, part II':
The final cylon: Kara? Laura? Ellen? Oh Lords of Kobol, no! Drunken, adulterous Ellen who downloads and comes back after you kill her?!
Hehehehe. Shall I go around now and claim that I predicted the final cylon?
*snickers*

Hm, rereading the rest of that post, I was reminded that Laura Roslin also had a visible reaction when the fleet jumped to the magical cylon-activating nebula. She swooned in CIC. No explanation ever given for that, though it could've been the chamala, I suppose.

And now I think I'll go into avoidance mode by reading one of the many books I bought this weekend. New books!

Oh Leoben... I haven't laughed that hard at this show in a LONG time.

*shakes head*

Yeah, I just... it made me nervous that he was so scared, but at the same time, it was a very giggle-worthy moment.

Heh! What I said to my friend was "this is definitely not the same Kara who died!" Which is a LITTLE unfair, I know, but reborn/clone/whatever she is Kara has been so much more mature and with it and that has to make me suspicious.

I get the whole "killing female characters" thing but ... Dee fit the bill perfectly, story-wise. She was someone the audience cared about (at least, I did!), she had been with us since the miniseries, and she was important to other characters on the show (where killing someone like Podgurski wouldn't have had much of an impact, IMO!) So I was totally devastated when it happened (I thought she was going to be killed by someone else, maybe, or else was a Cylon) which means it worked for me. Aiggggh! Plus, leave it to BSG to take the two people who were symbols of hope in the mini (Billy and Dee) and ... KILL THEM!

She's been all over the place in season four... the good thing is (I hope it's a good thing, anyway) that this episode gave me some hope that they're going to explain who/what she is (and what happened to her before) during these final episodes.

As for Dee, yeah, I can't argue about the choice not being fitting for the dramatics of storytelling. I would probably whine no matter who it was, though, because I love the ensemble cast of this show. :-)

It's funny that these things are about equally ALARMING to us Kara fans. ;)

Tigh WAS awesome. I've always enjoyed - but definitely not always liked - his character, but f you'd told me after the mini that I'd ever respect him about 100X more than Adama in any of their scenes I'd have thought you were kidding.

I'm more and more okay with Ellen, because (1) At least they're bringing a NFC back, even if she's not my favorite, and (2) this means that in the Tigh/Thrace family double-date on NC (and I'm still convinced that wasn't the first time they'd been drinking together) Kara was the only non-Dylan there. And who knows what SHE is now. o.0

I KNOW! It sort of makes me want to say (in Michael Hogan's voice, of course): "What the frak is going on here?!" But Adama is just... losing it and Tigh has continued to grow in awesomeness.

Ahaha, I hadn't thought about the Tigh/Anders double dates being a big cylon party except for Kara. Heeee! (and yes, what is she? *meep*)
