I think I have a 'Lost' headache now.

Oh, Lost. I like having you around but you don't always make much sense.
Oh, Rose's Lost posts! Written in some weird variant of stream-of-consciousness...

***** first hour *****

We start with more backstory of the Oceanic Six leaving the island. Hurley doesn't want to lie about the existence of the island and the other survivors, but the others persuade him. Hurley's resentful remark to Sayid is that Sayid better not ask him for anything 'cause the answer will be NO! dun dun DUN! (Yeah. No one ever said this was a subtle show.)

AAAAAAND, look, it's Hurley in his SUV, with Sayid passed out in the passenger seat! Oooh, ghost-cop Ana-Lucia gives him some advice! Always helpful. "Libby says hi." Hee! (It's nice to see the dead women come back. I'm feeling a bit sensitive over this issue right now thanks BSG!)

Shirtless Sawyer gets a shirt. Daniel Faraday acts all fumbly. "I need to determine where we are now in time." (Hah. I knew it. Moving the island meant moving it temporally.)

Triple murder suspect Hurley buys himself a not-so-inconspicuous tee-shirt. In a not-very-inconspicuous manner.

BEN! And Jack. Ben has persuaded Jack (to come back to the island, presumably) and plans to meet him in six hours.

Hi, Hurley's dad. We find out from Hurley that Sayid was 'trying to protect' Hurley after they left the mental institution.

Ben has an accomplice named Jill who works in a butcher shop. Great!

On the island, Bernard hasn't managed to make fire yet. Charlotte Lewis shows up! The redhead is suffering the effects of temporal displacement.

ACK, FLAMING ARROWS! I LOVE THIS SHOW! FLAMING ARROWS, Y'ALL! THAT IS TOTALLY AWESOME!

Kate and Sun have tea and talk about tough choices.

Hurley's dad delivers a still-unconscious Sayid to Jack. Meanwhile Hurley stays at the house and tells his mom the truth about the island and the other survivors. Mom says she believes him, awwww.

Juliet and Sawyer head toward the creek but are stopped by armed, previously unknown hostile people.

Ben comes to see Hurley ("Come away with me and be my love"), which prompts Hurley to run outside and turn himself in to the police.

Locke saves Sawyer and Juliet! Whee!

Mmmkay, there's a lab under a church and it's that white-haired lady Desmond saw before and she's yet another of Ben's allies!

Ben has seventy hours to get them all back!

***** Hour Two *****

Doctor Marvin Candle, the Asian scientist from the Dharma orientation videos, will be our featured teaser actor. :) Ooh, look Daniel Faraday is in this when.

Flashback to when Ben first moved the island: people are displaced in time, and Locke is left alone. The others find that their camp is gone, as well as their supplies. Daniel says that their camp hasn't been built yet. Shirtless Sawyer is previously shirtless.

The island is like a spinning record that's now skipping tracks. Got it.

Locke's elsewhen has the drug plane in its orginal crash and Ethan Rom (an Other from season one) shooting at him.

Sun and Charles Widmore agree that killing Benjamin Linus is what all the cool kids are going to do.

Daniel tells Sawyer that he can't go back in time to be his own grandpa. Or whatever. Yeah.

More skipping around in time; now Richard helps Locke with his leg wound. Tells Locke that he'll have to die to convince the other six to come back.

Daniel Faraday is his own grandpa! Or rather, he took the time to introduce himself to earlier Desmond, which now-Desmond remembers in a dream. (Penny!) And so they set sail for Oxford.

***** Rose's Deep Thoughts *****

Did I mention that the flaming arrows were way cool?! 'Cause they totally were!

HELP, I'm finding Ben ever-so-slightly weirdly attractive again! WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME?!?

Was redshirt Neil actually wearing a red shirt? I can't remember right now. The redshirt deaths on this show just... *giggles*

Um... possibly posting right after watching the episode means I have no deep thoughts. But I'm not sure I'll have deep thoughts if I wait any longer, either.

eta: Hah, apparently I watched these two hours out of order?!? I thought I was paying attention when I clicked on ABC's website, but who knows?

Redshirt was indeed wearing a red shirt. His death still didn't top Arnst, but that was pretty amusing.

I also spent a long time wondering if Sawyer was indeed going to go the whole two hours shirtless.

I seem to have been very shirt-oriented during this premiere.

I'm just gonna call it the theme. For we are all shirtless, are we not?
(hm, maybe I need more sleep before replying to comments)

Hurley! Wasn't this an interesting episode? I like Ana-Lucia saying, "Now if I were real, you'd be in trouble right now." That tickled me. That and the Libby shout-out.

The Hurley and Mom scene was cute. "I don't understand you, but I believe you."

Sun and Charles Widmore agree that killing Benjamin Linus is what all the cool kids are going to do.
Hee! Sun was looking pretty hardcore, though. I like it on her.

He put on the leather jacket and I thought, "Yup, Rose is going to go all 'Ben is a hottie' again." The jacket to me was weird, though. Remember, he is a killer. Don't be fooled, Rose!

Redshirt wore a redshirt? Really? Hee! And it was rather unfortunate that he was talking about fire at that very moment. Maybe unfortunate is the wrong word. I mean funny, really funny. :-)

BTW, Sayid is still hot. And where is Jin?

[identity profile] rose-griffes.livejournal.com 2009-01-24 02:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Sun did look totally awesome in her hard-core state.

Hee, oh, Ben. Actually I think it's the glasses in combination with having a plan. (Heck, after BSG for however many seasons now, anything with a plan is attractive. ;-))
at least I know that this is completely wrong?

Redshirt's death was indeed funny. Things have changed a lot on this show since season one--or rather, my attitude while watching this show has changed a lot since then. I just don't take it very seriously. flaming arrows!

I'm hoping we get some Jin flashbacks soon. Sayid is always hot. He was also v. amusing as he lolled around unconscious.
