mah reaction, let me show you it
Battlestar Galactica this week (4.12):
Okay, I'll write this up before reading anyone else's reaction. Mostly because I'm curious how my own thoughts and feelings will vary from everyone else's.
I thought this was an interesting and necessary episode, and reasonably well-done. Of course the fleet will have people rebelling against a cylon alliance that they feel is being forced on them. People like Felix, who have suffered personal consequences from interactions with the cylons will have a particularly strong reaction to this. Poor Felix! He's going to get himself in trouble, but he's doing it out of a passionate response. Felix and Tom Zarek--yikes. That's a scary collaboration, and one that's going to cause a lot more than just discomfort in the fleet.
Adama's blind spot for Colonel Tigh is going to cause problems. The XO is a cylon. That's all some people will be able to see.
Interesting how Tigh and Tyrol are adapting in fits and starts to their cylon identities. As for their side stories, Tigh was a lot more affectionate than I expected with his cylon baby mama. Tyrol... oh boy. I'm having such a hard time accepting that he would so easily relenquish care of the child that he's raised as his own all this time. Also: Hotdog?!? Really? *snickers*
Baltar calls for their Father to be held accountable and basically denies the existence of a god. This is not surprising. I can see it as an evolution of his thoughts from before.
Laura Roslin... again, I'm torn. I get why she feels this way, but this isn't the time to give up. Ack.
For an episode with hardly any Kara, no Sam and no Leoben, this episode held my attention well. I think it did a good job at showing a balance--those strongly opposed to a human-cylon alliance have very good reasons for their views. Those who favor it can perceive why this is, ultimately, a necessity for the fleet.
That really must be the last of Three/D'Anna. 'Earth' is apparently far behind now.
I haven't seen the advert for next week's episode, so try to keep that out of any comments here, please. Especially if the Sci-Fi promo monkeys were up to their usual stupid tricks.

I have kind of thing about Chief and his bag of issues, but it's very vague and rambly and does not belong here ;) Early season four with Cally was hard on the Chief-love for me. And very hard liking both of their characters quite a bit. All my character-love eventually conflicts. :(

I imagine you might have seen this interview that Mo Ryan did with RDM about the episode, but it's pretty good. He comes off very oblivious about how the Cally thing would play, but she asks the right questions. Also some good state of the fleet stuff and no spoilers that I could see, or I would have run away from it.
