mostly girly post

Today for church I chose another Ralph Vaughan Williams tune for the congregation. That's my second within the six months that I've been choosing the hymns we sing. We only have four in our hymn book, out of over 300 songs. Guess what kind of church music I like?! And in choir practice after church we started rehearsing a song based on a Mozart melody. Love those classics.

girly-talk:
I went to Dillard's yesterday to buy enough stuff to get the gift-with-purchase from Lancome. I don't wear a ton of makeup but what I do wear is important. I buy inexpensive lipsticks and mascaras but I prefer really good-quality foundation and face powder. I've been happy with Arbonne's foundation (Arbonne is a home-business organic makeup/skin care company--like Mary Kay minus the mineral oil, heh) and with Lancome's Matt Buff II face powder. And if I can buy the face powder and get free samples of stuff, so much the better.

Before going to Dillard's I stopped by Sam Moon's and remembered why I don't usually go there. Sensory overload--too many pretty, affordable, girly things. I left without purchasing anything. I'll have to remember next time I want to go there--bring a friend or go with a specific thing to purchase.

My hair keeps getting longer. That's because I don't know what I want to do with it. The moment I actually decide to grow it out, it will stop completely. Plus that's when I'll remember that I hate having things touch my neck constantly (I don't wear turtlenecks or collar necklaces). Today I made a very short ponytail--Starbuck hair, season two! (with bangs, because I look funny without them) (also, dark-blonde, not light blonde)

MEME:
You Are 40% Girly

You are a pretty hardcore tomboy, and a very free spirit.
Gender roles be dammed, you like to do things your way.

This actually doesn't surprise me. I've said before that I'm a girly-girl, but that's just my opinion. I used to be such a tomboy that I feel girly to me now, but comparatively speaking, lots of women are way more girly than me. (Plus I have quibbles with some of the questions being attached to girliness in this quiz. Heh.)
