LOST LOST LOST!
Watched the season finale of Lost just a bit ago.
Oh, Juliet. Why, why, why must you care how Sawyer looks at Kate when he's done so many other things to prove by his actions that he cares about you?! That annoyed me so much.
On the other hand, everything else Juliet did was pretty awesome.
So, take a wild guess about the character I found attractive in this episode... blond hair, blue eyes... deceptively calm demeanor hiding power. Why yes, this would be Jacob! Just in time for him to be stabbed byLocke's Esau's emissary, Ben.
Was the Alex-avatar also a manifestation of Esau? What about all the other avatars--Christian, Claire??, Charlie...
Is all of this meant to be a fight between some non-Christian style Gods? Not good versus evil... more like the Titans versus the Olympians?
I'm confused. It's awesome.
Hey, the Lost recapper over at TWoP seems to be uncrazy! It's refreshing! Yes, I have the scars left from reading Jacob's recaps there. Or at least trying to read his recaps. I gave up sometime early in season three.
Was Richard (Ricardos) one of the passengers on the Black Rock? (I assume it was the ship approaching the island in the first scene--that seems to be the general fannish consensus.)
Bernard and Rose and Vincent! Whoooohooooo! Alive in the seventies, baby, and retired!
So, what do you all think? Is Juliet really dead? How about Sayid? How about everyone else near the hydrogen bomb?! Did everything get reset and now Sawyer is back to being his former con artist self and Kate's in jail and Jack has daddy issues (oh wait, that never actually changed)... etcetera.
Speaking of the TWoP recap(let)--the best line was the ending:
eta: hah, wasn't done. Does Richard think he's working for the side of Good and Right? I'm not sure that Richard's work is entirely done out of free will. Remember his warnings when he took child-Ben from Kate? That he would never be the same, he would always be one of them?
Also, Ilona (spelling?) is pretty cool and I'm curious about why she was in the hospital in her flashback. And the pilot's delivery on his line fantastic made me giggle a lot.
Did Jacob cause Nadia's death or save Sayid's life?

Now that is what I call a reset. I'll catch you on the flipside with the full recap. Meanwhile, I'd like you to come up with a detailed plan on how I can make it to 2010 without seeing more of this show, because right now, the only thing I can think of involves a padded room, a straitjacket, and mainlining tranquilizers.

I don't think it worked as Jack thought it would, so no full reset. My theory is that they've completed their task within the loop, by creating the Incident, and they've timeflashed out of there, back to the present. Everybody, including Juliet. Except that, y'know, she's at the bottom of a big honking well with terrible injuries and Sayid's bleeding out, so hopefully they can get magically better (though with Jacob "dead" I don't know if they can. eep).
Richard is interesting. He's definitely Team Jacob as is Ilana and pals, and given his answer to Ilana's question, they believe they're on the side of good. But whether that's "good" as we would construe it, I don't know. What's especially interesting is how much he actually DOESN'T know (else he's got specific instructions to let it all play out), because he didn't recognize Locke was y'know, his leader's MORTAL ENEMY.
Right now, I'd say that not!locke was also the other manifestations of Smokey (Christian, Alex, etc), except that Not!Locke didn't seem to know that Ben saw Alex. So... I don't know. Perhaps if Jacob really was pulling an Aslan as seems likely to me, then he (Jacob) took the shape of Alex to make sure Ben did his part. But heh, seven months of speculation, I suspect we're all gonna sift through all of this really finely.
bwah, Y'know, CKR would have made a good Jacob... There was one of the flashbacks where I actually thought it was for a moment.

Interesting idea! That whole enigmatic demeanor means we can assign all kinds of motivations and thoughts to Jacob.
Huh, another show to make me pull out the mythology stuff. How entirely predictable of me. *g*

Like I need another reason to crush on CKR. (he would have been awesome!)

I was sad for Juliet. I liked her and Sawyer. Even if it's a reset, does this mean Sawyer didn't love her? What the heck is it about men and Kate?
If Bernard and Rose are alive, where is everyone else in their group?
If Richard is from Black Rock ship, why doesn't he age?
SAYID BETTER NOT BE DEAD!
2010: A Lost Odyssey!

I have NO IDEA. Whee!

I think Sawyer loved Juliet and she was being an idiot. Like Sawyer said (and I cannot believe I'm agreeing with him--when did he become the voice of reason?!), a look doesn't matter. So he looked at Kate--so what? Three years of proving himself to be trustworthy to her isn't enough? Choosing to go back to a life in the seventies with her doesn't count?
I'm still irate about it, apparently. Thank goodness Juliet had enough other good moments in this episode to balance my disdain for that one.
Though yeah, I don't know what it is about Kate that turns men into doofuses.
If Richard is from Black Rock ship, why doesn't he age?
He said Jacob did it. And he didn't necessarily sound like he was happy about it... which is why I'm wondering just how much free will Richard has.
I hope Sayid's not dead, too! Gah, this show...
