Two manifestos! Sounds vaguely political... or religious. (They're not.)

*sigh* Choosing a favorite character in Doctor Who fandom is partly self-defense. Unlike Battlestar Galactica, the sheer volume of fanfic posted for DW is overwhelming. I like Rose and Donna and the Ponds and Eleven and River (and Ten at times) but I just can't read about all of them all the time. So I read Martha fics. And Donna fix-it fics, and Donna not-fix-it fics. Sometimes I read Eleven-era fics when I'm in the mood, and Rose, and even Torchwood: The Gwen Cooper Show Children of Earth fic. But here's the thing: THERE'S NOT ENOUGH MARTHA FIC OUT THERE! I was trying to compile some Martha Jones het-fic for het_reccers and AUGH there isn't enough. In particular there's not enough Martha/Mickey fic.

I've been threatening to write that Martha/Mickey babyfic for a while now. Maybe I'll just stop threatening and write it.

Here are my two character manifestos for het_reccers. Both have ten (het) fic recs for those characters and a short blurb about why I love them so.

(We're only supposed to do one character manifesto, but that's me: a wild rules-breaker*.)

* Okay, not that much of a rules-breaker. I had permission. Also, I didn't post a link to my own Martha/Mickey fic there, which is against the rules. So here: Rocketman, Mickey, Rose, Jake, Donna, Rita-Anne. Last section has a Martha/Mickey first kiss.

And now I need to work on stuff for my post about the pilot episode of The Sarah Connor Chronicles. I am feeling very fannish lately? Weirdly fannishly productive without actually writing fic. Live it up, all of you who have friended this journal for fannish reasons! I have no doubt that soon I'll be back to my usual boring stuff.

Just wanted to let you know that I read your Sam manifesto earlier. It's a nice list. If I weren't so busy I'd check out the Sam/Laura fic. I have to remind myself to do that later . . . :-)
