icons, formatting woes, fic recs

I really hate it that the only reasonably-priced legal way to get episodes of Farscape is through iTunes. I want to have my dad watch, and I have no idea if burning a disc of episodes would do me any good at all, considering iTunes' proprietary software. *sigh* I'd love to convert the episodes to DVD format, but I'd even settle for something that could be played on his computer. Anyone know anything about this?

And as long as I'm asking for information, how about changing WMV format to... whatever format DVD's use. Eventually I'm going to have to either invest in more memory for my computer or get this season of Battlestar Galactica converted into something I can watch on my DVD player.

Fic recs! palmetto has written not one, but two Boomer/Apollo fics. (Or Sharon/Lee. Whatever.) They're both fun and sweet and actually a wee bit convincing that this pairing could work, heh. AU Earth-fic, light spoilers for early season four.
