Once upon a time a hotshot pilot landed on a supposedly dead planet to look for a mystical arrow. She got beaten up by a Cylon, but won the arrow. Her best friend showed up, but he had another Cylon with him and that Cylon said she was pregnant, and stole the hotshot pilot's spaceship.
That's when I started watching the Kara and Helo show (also known as
Battlestar Galactica). Next that hotshot pilot and her best friend went around and angsted and drove a jeep and were generally awesome and then they met some human (mostly!) survivors. One of them was a tall, handsome Pyramid player who pointed a gun at Kara and... I'd love to say this was when I started favoring Kara and Sam as a couple, but that came much, much later. Nonetheless, have some Kara/Sam fic recs, with bonus rambling by me!
