TV this week

Lunchtime! But first, reaction time! TV this week was tasty! You know how this works: I write my fairly incoherent reaction with lots of exclamation marks and little actual analysis. Go!

Community was a hoot. Not as good as last week's episode, but few things are. Annie's horror story was by far the funniest. I did, in fact, laugh out loud.

P&R was its usual delightful self. Who didn't see Entertainment Seven-Twenty's imminent demise coming?! Aw, Tom. Also, Ben and Andy 'fighting' was just about the most hilarious thing ever. As were Andy and April's divorce threats if he didn't end up as pretty after his nose healed. April has really grown on me as a character, by the way.

Revenge continues to have the prettiest outfits. I could watch this show just for the clothes. Good thing there's a lot more going on, though. Tyler continues to be problematic for Emily, and he's definitely got some kind of scam/con going on, rather than just a frat boy looking out for a 'brother'. Now there's the Grayson's ex-security guy, Frank. Seems he has a thing for Victoria and a grudge about losing his job, which may have repercussions for Emily and Nolan.

Speaking of Nolan, he's apparently an Amanda/Jack shipper. (Hee!) So the creepy stalkery billionnaire apparently wants Amanda to find true love and give up her quest for vengeance?! Maybe...

I went back and rewatched the intro. to the pilot episode a few days ago. I didn't spot Tyler at the engagement party. (Which isn't to say that the show won't decide to have him there later. They could easily put some footage of him into that party.)

I'm glad to have some foils for Emily-Amanda; having the evil corrupt bad guy of the week that gets taken down is fun, but it could easily turn into Revenge the procedural. I reserve the right to change my mind if they mess it up, though. Heh.

Person of Interest must have downloaded my favorite things to throw into this episode. A cool, seemingly amoral woman who has a secret good side! Sort-of reluctant shared duties of breaking and entering! Kissing as a cover for slipping someone a vital tool! Finch getting to gloat a wee bit over justice delayed but finally served! Jim Caviezel's pretty blue eyes! Carter working her case and being awesome! (And still no powerless female victims in the episodes. Plus, for a show with two male leads, they're doing a decent job of giving women plenty to do on a fairly regular basis.)

Okay, so I'm getting more curious about this case that Carter is working. Sneaky long-term storytelling in a procedural show. I like it!

That was a thoroughly enjoyable episode and I will probably watch it again.

Sometime this weekend I need to watch the pilot episode of Once Upon a Time. Maybe Grimm too. And I need to finish Fringe, season two. And work on Anders fic. Possibly there will be work and real life as well... (Something tells me none of this will get done. Except the work and real life stuff.)

April on Parks & Rec took a while to grow on me, but I love her and Andy's relationship so much. And eeee Community! Annie's part cracked me up, though I also loved Abed's overly-logical story.

I liked the Once Upon a Time pilot a lot, Grimm not so much - among other things, the latter doesn't have any non-victim, non-cipher female characters.

That's what I've heard from a lot of people. So as much as I like the idea of CSI: Wonderland, I'm guessing I'll enjoy Once Upon a Time more. (Plus prettier clothes! Which goes a long way with me!)

Revenge reviews confuse me. Some people call her Emily and some people call her Amanda. I call her Emily since that's who she kind of is now. Amanda was her little girl self.

I missed Fringe this week. :-(

I liked Once Upon a Time!

You are opposite of me. Weekends are for fun stuff. That gets done. Serious Thoughts and work stuff happen late on Sunday evening. :-)

Heh. I actually let that sentence get away from me... or rather, that thought got away from me and I didn't express myself well. By the time I got finished writing my list of things to work on, I had the whole week in mind, not just the weekend.

Though since I'm at home tonight, maybe I'll watch some Fringe. After dinner and digesting, 'cause mixing that show and food is never a good plan.
