LJ doesn't want me to express myself; also, I attempt to end a horrifying trend by joining in.

It's Friday night! And I'm more than a little excited about staying home and catching up on Missing. (Last weekend had enough fun to last for a few weeks.)

My extra LJ userpics have expired. *sigh* I still have several weeks left on my paid account--which I will definitely renew--but I can't decide about the userpics.

Change of topic: I haven't talked about clothes in ages. How many times have I ranted about skinny jeans and tunic tops? Well, I'm trying a new tactic: wear them myself in an attempt to bring an end to the look. (Because teenagers seeing their un-cool teacher wearing clothes like theirs should definitely bring about a change, don't you think?)

I still don't think skinny jeans are the most flattering look for me, and tunic tops are hit or miss--it depends on the cut. This one isn't bad, although like the jeans, there are definitely more flattering styles out there for me for everyone. *shrugs* So... we'll see if I have managed to bring about the end of Western civilization stop this whole skinny jeans trend by owning and wearing a pair.

PS (or should that be PP--post post): this is the casually chic 'end of the workday' wrinkled look. ;-P

What's wrong with skinny jeans? I don't currently own a pair of jeans but I remember all jeans as being warm. I like warm. This is why I'm not a good fashion person. Warmth comes before all else!

I missed your clothing posts!

Is missing good? You're the second person who has mentioned missing. I am kind of on the fence on that show and don't know if I should just cave in and watch it.

Heh, I've always envied how comfy tunic tops look to wear, but they sadly don't work for me. Skinny jeans though are the least flattering on everyone I know, good luck!

3/4 sleeves are definitely a pain; you can't put a jacket or sweater on easily over them. Meh.

Skinny jeans just aren't very flattering on most people; we don't mind how they look, because our eyes are trained to accept what's in style, but nearly every woman looks good in straight-legged trousers and jeans (going straight down from the hip, rather than tapering in or flaring out). Hardly anyone's figure is truly flattered by skinny jeans... except truly skinny women, because the cut makes them look curvier than they are.

Missing is not that good (or it hasn't been yet, I may revise my opinion once I catch up), but it hits a lot of my favorite things: angsty ex-spies whose pasts won't let them go, combative women with guns, parent figures, pretty European cities... It was filmed in Europe, and it looks amazing.

This season is only going to be ten episodes long, so it wouldn't be that difficult to give it a try. Basic idea: Becca Winstone used to work for the CIA; now her son has been kidnapped and she's trying to get him back.

That's one of the few tunic tops that didn't look terrible on me. Frankly I don't think they look that good on most people; too easy to have that faux pregnancy look.

ugh, skinny jeans.

The problem with tunic tops is the way they gape if you've got any sort of cleavage. I do like v-neck tops, though.

Tunic tops also gape if you have no cleavage.
