A year ago I started a Tumblr for fannish stuff about Person of Interest. And now I think I'm gonna log out and stay away for a while, because Tumblr is making me a tired and cranky fan of the show. I hear that if you follow other people rather than going in the main tags, you can avoid the inevitable ridiculousness about ships (Mine's right! Yours is wrong!) and characters ("Let me tell in excruciating detail why I hate the character you love!"), but I don't think it's worth the trouble right now. Soooooo... stayed logged out for an indefinite period of time. Maybe for Lent? Hm, could be.

Tumblr as a fandom-centered place makes me sad. I stopped having anything to do with fandom over there a while ago, deleted my BSG-centric blog, and am much happier following a tiny group of people and posting my own photos instead, once in a great while. It's less of a community, but it's a lot more sane. I hope you can find balance with it. :/

Frankly, with the dog as a BIG distraction, I'm not missing it just yet.

I think I'm just a bad match for the kind of place Tumblr is. I get too wrapped up in stuff that I can put into perspective better on LJ. Dunno why, but there it is. (Though really, tumblr is a bad format for a lot of fandom-related things, which many people have said... and yet fandom is still migrating there anyway. Or only going there in the first place, with the younger fans.)
