bsg ficlet: eeeeeeep!
This was going to be the ending to a third (and final) on-earth fanfic. But this ending gave me the creeps. Eeep! So I'm putting it here as a ficlet, and hope my brain (and muse) can move on to some other idea...
Kara's hand was cold in his. She still looked nervous, so he gave her hand a small squeeze and smiled at her. She pulled her hand away. Across the room walking toward them was the tall man he had seen her with before, accompanied by the dark-haired girl. Kara rushed forward and hugged the man, then turned and said, "Leoben, this is Karl Agathon." They shook hands and Kara continued. "This is his daughter Hera."
Hera shook his hand gravely. "You weren't always real," she said, "but I think you're real now." She turned to Kara and her eyes lit up. "He'll bit a little like me!" she gasped excitedly. Then she put her head to Kara's still-flat stomach, smiling. Kara was pale as she stared at the small dark head leaning against her belly. Hera stood back abruptly and looked up at Kara. "Don't worry. You'll like him."

Minus the insanity and the ninja skills (hee). One person who commented on the Helo fic picked up on my tiny hint about Hera's abilities and compared her to Maia from the 4400. Either way, creeeeepy child.
Hera's not the part that freaks me out though, it's the idea of Kara/Leoben + baby. Which is funny because I'm normally such a rabid Kara/Leoben shipper (and they really would have a beautiful baby).
*sigh* Now I'm stuck on what to do with the last on-Earth fic. Blah.

But part Cylon! Come on, there's no way that's not weird. I wouldn't want something half-machine growing in *my* womb. *shudder*
You could always have Leoben suddenly activate his programming and...destroy the world? No, no, make Kara kill him before he can complete the mission. Because there's a large part of Kara that can only admit she loves someone *after* he's dead. See, happy ending after all! *g*

I worry about how easily I'm amused by my own stupid ideas.
Oh Leoben. I miss him. I wish my brain would write more fic with him, 'cos ♥♥♥. Or someone else should write more fic with him. (My fangirl hopes would be much more easily fulfilled if I shipped Kara/Lee or Kara/Anders.)

I'd really be interested to see how Sam would react to Kara's relationship to 'sleeper' Leoben. Now that would be create a really interesting storyline.

Heh, at the time I wrote the two stories, I didn't have much interest in Sam at all. He's grown on me as a character. I have considered writing another on-Earth fic that included him, but ran out of steam on that particular idea.

I'd say there is a lot there.
