cramming in as much as I can in the time I have left...

Finishing out season three of Doctor Who:

Oh, John Simm, you sexy thing. (I'd say I want to marry the Master and have his adorable evil babies, but, um... I can definitely resist that.) Evil villain crushes, yay!
eta: Yeah, I have a TV villain-crush type. The Master definitely fits the mold. I'm gonna watch these two epis again! (Maybe not today, though.)

Martha, I understand, but I'll MISS YOU SO MUCH!

This fanvid is an utterly brilliant, hilarious look at the Master. You don't have to know the show at all to enjoy it. Plus it uses music by Flight of the Conchords! Win!

Fic recs for the Year that Wasn't, PLEASE!

Oh yes, the Master is sexay, totally. I have an evil villain thing, actually, but he's just...mm, yeah.

Martha was awesome. At least she shows up in 5 episodes of Season 4, so you don't lose her entirely. And she's almost doubly awesome there. :-)

AW, I'm so glad there will be a bit more of Martha. *sniffles*

Some men can pull off the evil villain act with that hint of self-awareness (that as an actor, the role would be toooooo much fun to play) and really make it work. John Simm does it so well.

Martha is also in my beloved Torchwood.

Only for three eps, though, right?

I need to hunt down an icon, stat.

Yes. For which she is pretty awesome.

Um... so could I watch just those episodes and not be totally confused? Because Jack Harkness kinda annoys me and I don't have much interest in Torchwood anyway except for potential Martha content.

Yeah. Torchwood isn't everyone's cuppa.

*pokes you*
Is that yes, I can watch them without watching the rest of the series? Inquiring minds want to know!

I suppose I could read wikipedia for the other episodes leading up to her appearance. Or maybe I'll just poke around for fic and see what I can find, 'cause that's fun too.

(Martha icon now! Yay!)

It is a yes, iirc, there's nothing about the three that require intrinsic pre-aquired TW knowledge.

Hmm...I'd have to think about this a bit, but on first blush, I think you might be incredibly confused, because I think even *I* was a tiny bit. There was also a lot of crossover going on in those episodes, people brought in from the TW and DW 'verse. But if you've seen DW, then actually, it might not be so bad.

But if you watched the very first ep of Torchwood, that might give you all the background you need to see those Martha eps.

Oooh, good plan. I dunno why I didn't think of that--it's exactly what I did when I decided to watch Due South for the Callum Keith Rennie parts. (He didn't show up until season three.)
