'cause rock musicians... uh, rock?
I go through music binges. Most recent favorite: Butterfly Boucher. Best known for "A Bitter Song"--apparently they played it on Grey's Anatomy once, but I know the song from
hollywoodgrrl's fabulous BSG Final Four fanvid. But Boucher can also do a fantastic rock sound, which she does with two other musicians in the sorta-kinda-a-joke band Elle Macho.
I'm not sure "Car Crash" has the most sense-making lyrics ever, but it's fun.
eta: oops, one f-word in this song. Um, used as a verb to mean 'mess up,' so you can figure out if that's outside of your comfort level. I don't think there's much cussing in the other songs, though now I'll have to go back and listen again.
Here's another Elle Macho song "Bombs". Too bad the album is so short, though I'm about to go download one of Boucher's solo albums from emusic.com.
This interview with Boucher is short and reasonably interesting. (Shot in a back alley in LA--weird.)
eta: more vids! Keeper, from her recent solo album "Scary Fragile." And speaking of that, here's an acoustic version of the title track.
Hm. There needs to be some kind of fanvid about Kara Thrace to I Can't Make Me Love You, yes? (feeling clothes envy now--I want that dress)
