rose_griffes: Eleventh Doctor catching River as she floats in space (oh tardis my tardis)

TV the past week

Parks and Recreation has been delightful this season, with few misses. "The Fight" was definitely the stronger of the two episodes aired last week, but "Eagleton" had the extra awesome of Leslie's line I'm gonna go make out with him right now. On his FACE!" And then there was that first kiss. I... it's sort of embarrassing how much I think Leslie and Ben are adorable. Please don't mess this up, show.

Donna and Jerry winning at Know Your Boo was hilarious.

Oh, and everyone's drunk bar scenes in combination with their next day hangovers in "The Fight" were just... heeeeeeee! I may have to rewatch that episode.

Doctor Who Apparently my lack of excitement for all things Gaiman extended to this episode. It was competent and entertaining, but I have no desire to declare this to be the best stand-alone episode for Eleven. Also, I'm disappointed that there was no Idris Elba, since I knew there was an Idris in the episode. ;-)

The Killing YOU GUYS KNOW HOW I FEEL ABOUT BUDDY COPS! (I love them.) YAAAAAAY, LINDEN AND HOLDER BUDDY COPS!

Ahem. Hi there. My name is Rose and I have a bulletproof male-female buddy cop friendship kink.

This episode was low on plot advancement ("Stonewalled" is an appropriate title) but I'm still intrigued enough by the character development. Richmond's descent into mud-slinging, Mitch's slow slide downward, the Ahmeds and their foundering relationship.

Ugh, Linden's boss is the WORST EVER. Bleh.

Fiancé not returning calls, working late hours with female co-worker. Jack e-mailing his friends the pictures. Ack.

Um. Sorry, no more time to think of thoughtful things to say.

And that's all the TV I watched. Except for my rewatch of SCC episode 2.05
I'll write a recap of it tomorrow night unless the person signed up for the recap posts by then.

Yay, I'm not the only one!

I kept reading these reaction posts with raves and wondering what they saw versus what I saw... which was enjoyable, but not that amazing.

That was so not okay on multiple levels.

What could Bennet possibly be into? And how was Rosie involved?

[identity profile] rose-griffes.livejournal.com 2011-05-17 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
The thing is, Sarah opened that file with Jack in the room... which is also disturbing. But yes, e-mailing the pics, really really bad and worrisome.

Bennet and Rosie: my new pet theory, which is made of my imagination and the word passport, is that Bennet is doing something to help young women of Somalia avoid genital mutilation? Or some other bad fate? and that maybe they're smuggling the girls to a different country?

I don't know. This is really wild speculation on my part now. Also, it doesn't explain the use of ammonium hydroxide.

Yeah, I hate to blame Sarah but what was she thinking? She's getting way too obsessed with the case. And her face when she found out it was her son. Oh, I wanted to hug her. She screwed up. Bad.

And the news station showed them! What sort of world do we live in?

I thought Bennet was helping girls too! But how was Rosie helping? Why was she breathing in chemicals? Where is Aisha? And was that her mother who left the note?

So many questions!

Fanservice-y, yeah... I think that's why so many people have raved about it. (And why it didn't work as well for me.) Good point.

The Killing has been a bit uneven but I'm still quite riveted.

Hee. I really enjoyed it (and almost wish I had no idea who wrote it so I didn't have to have thoughts on Gaiman too, heh.) If all of the coming episodes are at least this entertaining and good on the character front, I'll be a pretty happy watcher. :)

It... wasn't bad? I didn't dislike it? I'm just not ready to label it THE BEST EVER.

Oh no, YMMV and all that, really. And I'm not at the point of a good friend of mind who wants Neil Gaiman to WRITE ALL THE EPS EVER, but I was happy and sometimes flaily, so I'm good until Saturday for new Who at least. :)
