can't sleep *twitch twitch twitch*

Can't sleep. Have just now deduced that it was the decongestant I took. Blergh. At least today is Sunday and not Monday yet.

Someone on my reading list asked for favorite fanvids, any fandom, self-reccing allowed. For that last part I say: ahahahahahaha! Anyway. I've mentioned before that vids are just not my medium and that watching one all the way through is a major accomplishment. Also, I'm ridiculously picky about the music. Now that I'm done with the disclaimers, here are some of the vids I liked enough to download this year. Most of which the person making the wish has probably already seen. Heh. In fact, I think she recced one of these in the first place.

Ghosts, by [livejournal.com profile] beccatoria. Caprica Six breaks my heart.

There Is a War Going on for Your Mind, Laura, also by [livejournal.com profile] beccatoria. One of the oddest vids I have ever seen. I don't even really like rap music most of the time, but this is thoroughly compelling.

The Ladies' Choice, by [livejournal.com profile] beccatoria and [livejournal.com profile] asta77. Crackvid about our many lovely men on BSG.

Liar, by [livejournal.com profile] canadiangirl_86. Ensemble vid. Makes me wanna cry.

More crying! You Passed By, by [livejournal.com profile] crickets. Angsty Kara, woe. (Really it's more about her absence in her relationships. Interesting pov.)

Now go watch this to cheer up! I Feel Lucky, by [livejournal.com profile] taragel. Starbuck's awesomeness, now available in vid form.

Cathedrals by by [livejournal.com profile] chaila43. Laura Roslin, Three, Caprica Six. I watched this several times while working on a fic about D'Anna. (Still haven't finished the fic.) I also liked her Bill Adama vid, which sort of boggles my mind. That's the second one this year about him that I watched all the way through, and I don't normally find him to be a particularly sympathetic character.

Wow, that's a lot of gen, ensemble and cylons. (And Kara!) Shocking, yes? :P

Having vid fans and vid makers on my reading list has made me more appreciative of them. Plus I have a bigger music collection--because some of these songs are so lovely, I had to hunt down more music by the artists.

On to other fandoms!
Pushing Daisies:
Open Your Eyes, by [livejournal.com profile] di_br. Oh Ned! Oh Chuck! Oh show! This one reuses the same footage a bit too much for my taste but I'm giving it a pass because 1) love the song, 2) made just from the nine episodes of season one and 3) oh NEDandCHUCK.

Modern Nature, by [livejournal.com profile] charmax. The song is a bit too sweet for my taste, but that actually works pretty well for this show.

Angel with an Attitude, by [livejournal.com profile] charmax again. Another song choice that works specifically with this show and these images. This vid takes advantage of the amazing visuals of Pushing Daisies.

Doctor Who:
I'm watching vids for seasons I haven't actually seen yet. What can I say? It's a pretty, pretty show and people vid it well. I apparently have no problems with being spoiled for information about future episodes of DW. *shrugs*
if you spoil me for BSG stuff, I will hunt you down!

Handlebars, by [livejournal.com profile] flummery. This Doctor Who character study of the tenth doctor got recced everywhere, for good reason. More rap by the Flobots, by the way.

Shut Up and Drive by [livejournal.com profile] laurashapiro. I haven't seen any Martha episodes yet, but as demonstrated here, she is clearly awesome. *g* It's obvious this was meant to be a dance vid--that's part of why I liked it so much.

Hey, [livejournal.com profile] prolix_allie, have you seen this Cally fic? It's about her in the brig after shooting Boomer.

Aw you recced mine! (I'm glad it did not make you cry. Hee.)

Also, I just watched Angel with an Attitude yesterday and really loved it.

And that Cally fic was awesome. Thanks for sharing these recs.

Ooh, vid recs! I'm an extremely visual person, so vids have an enormous amount of appeal to me in that sense. YES to all the BSG ones, especially...no, just all of them :) And the PD ones are great! I hadn't seen them before, the visuals on that show are just gorgeous and perfect for vidding. Thanks for sharing these.

Oh, Cally.

I'm glad you're enjoying them!

Pushing Daisies is just a gorgeous show. I'm going to miss it so much.
