When I first started reccing other people's fic I included lots of information. Things have gotten more lax streamlined since then, which probably has a lot to do with how I use LJ. I never access it at work, so I don't really need a ton of information on a fic rec to click; I can check out the header and back-click if I don't want to read, and no one is using technology to look over my shoulder.
But some of you have jobs with lots of time to spend online, and some of you might just want lots of information, so... a poll! I love polls!

I thought about letting y'all select "I reject your binary choices!" but then the choices wouldn't be binary, would they? So if you want that to be your answer, you'll just have to comment. *grins*
Writing fic is slogging through the muck of misplaced, context-less words, arranging them into some semblance of order, then hosing them down to remove the remaining debris. It's not fun, although I do sometimes find it satisfying and I nearly always like the finished product.

I'm about to dive back into work-related stuff, but I have thoughts on an important subject: me. (heh)

All of this brings up some interesting thoughts about what is or isn't canon, though. I rarely attempt to write something that deliberately goes against what the show has established. Sometimes my fic may speculate on what comes next, but I try to keep it within the universe we know. But my definition of canon is apparently a lot more restrictive than other people's.
Though when the canon idea is, in my opinion, inherently dumb, I have no problem ignoring it. Hello, human/cylon babies (not made out of love)! Welcome to Earth!

I've been mulling over why I'm not one hundred percent thrilled about the possibility of BSG movies to be made after the series is complete. Here's a quote from the link:
The films would be about incidents in “Battlestar Galactica’s” past. They will not take place after the time frame of the series finale. And the stories in the proposed films will depend, at least in part, on what actors are available to work on them.
I think if I were a bigger fan of 'Razor' I'd be more excited. However... ( a few thoughts about character love, 'Razor,' etc. Spoilers through 'Razor' only. )
So, a poll. Just to satisfy my own curiosity. Not that I expect much traffic here, but I like polls! They make me feel all scientific and stuff! *g*

2) What happened to the cylon detector? Was it still in use after Baltar "fixed" the problems it had (when it identified Boomer but he lied about it)? Anyone else ever use it?

Hm, let's see. 1) I'm trying to eat less chocolate. It's making me cranky. 2) I was poking around at my fic and suddenly realized a huge continuity error I made in Pretty Girl. The plastic cuffs that the Three puts on Seelix just magically disappear at some point. *headdesk*
